The BE@RBRICK "Japan National Football Team Ver." 100% & 400% set is here. Additionally, a total of 14 items, including a 1000% cushion, will be sequentially released starting from June 5th (Friday) at the pop-up store "and ST TOKYO" (Harajuku), followed by the JFA STORE and MEDICOM TOY direct stores.

BE@RBRICK Appears in a Special Edition Featuring the Japan National Football Team's Uniform Design
Luxis, known for its extensive range of character and sports merchandise, in collaboration with the Japan Football Association (JFA) and under license from MEDICOM TOY, will release a limited quantity of special edition 100% & 400% sets and various merchandise featuring the "BE@RBRICK" Japan National Football Team uniform design.
We spoke with Ryusho Sasaki, the planning representative, and Kyosuke Ando, the development representative from Luxis, about this lineup, which marks a new endeavor for BE@RBRICK.
Delivering "Excitement, Joy, and Thrills" to Soccer and BE@RBRICK Fans Worldwide!
— First, could you tell us about the inspiration behind planning the merchandise, including the "BE@RBRICK Japan National Football Team Ver."?
SasakiOur company's slogan is "Let's bring excitement to the world through craftsmanship! And let's enjoy life!!!" We have been producing merchandise since 2009.
We handle a wide variety of related merchandise for music, anime, movies, and sports, and have been diligently researching and considering items that can be distributed globally.
Through this process, the concept for "BE@RBRICK Japan National Football Team Ver." was born. We wanted to convey "excitement, joy, and thrills," in line with Luxis's philosophy of "making customers happy when they receive our products!!!", to soccer fans and BE@RBRICK fans around the world.
— What do you consider to be the appeal of BE@RBRICK as an IP from Luxis's perspective?
AndoBE@RBRICK has been a familiar icon of pop culture since I was in middle or high school. As we wanted to energize the sports year, I also had a desire to combine it with things I love, which led to us approaching MEDICOM TOY for a collaboration.
SasakiBE@RBRICK itself originated in Japan, and it's very appealing that it has fans not only in Japan but worldwide. Its ability to span a wide range of cultures, including fashion and art, was the final deciding factor.
— Could you tell us about the specific considerations and challenges in creating the "BE@RBRICK 100% & 400% Set"?
SasakiBE@RBRICK figures are basically static and don't move. That's part of their charm, but since this is the Japan National Football Team version, we wanted to convey a sense of dynamism and movement to the customers. To achieve this, our in-house design team at Luxis created the key visuals.

AndoThe first World Cup I watched was the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. I was in second grade then, and around that time, translucent designs like those of the iMac and Game Boy were popular. To me, they felt futuristic and exciting.
Currently, Y2K is a trend, so we decided to adopt a translucent design that would resonate with people in their 20s and 30s, who are at the forefront of society.
Also, the translucent iMac had a matte finish rather than being completely clear. If it were too transparent, the contents would be too visible. We thought that by making it cloudy, it would pique curiosity about what was inside. The challenges were in accurately representing the uniform design and reproducing the special blue color.
SasakiReproducing the specific colors of the Japan National Football Team was challenging because the colors appear differently depending on the material of each merchandise item, and the finish (glossy or matte) also affects the appearance. We had to adjust the shades of color to get closer to the final desired look. Even the packaging presented a different appearance when the product itself was photographed, so we worked to make it as close to the actual item as possible.
AndoThe JFA requested that we accurately represent the horizontal line on the emblem, so the staff at MEDICOM TOY worked diligently on that.

— Please tell us about the intended use and design considerations for each product.
SasakiFirst, the "Jacquard Muffler Towel" is a standard応援グッズ (cheering goods). Typically, the Japan National Football Team emblem appears on both ends. However, this time, we intentionally placed it on one end and BE@RBRICK on the other to appeal to a wider audience.
The "High-Res Fiber Towel" can be used as a towel and features high-resolution printing for excellent graphic reproduction and vibrant colors.
For the "Tote Bag," we aimed to create a bag that could be used for daily work or casual outings to a cafe. The "BE@RBRICK" logo is woven into the handles, and when opened, the main visual is beautifully printed inside.
The "BE@RBRICK 1000% Cushion" is a personal highlight. We've recreated the 1000% size BE@RBRICK as a cushion. It can be used as a huggable pillow or as a decorative piece on a sofa, offering a substantial presence. From a distance, it looks like the real thing (laughs).

The "Die-Cut Card Case" can be used as a pass case for commuting or as a luggage tag by writing your name and contact information. The "Coasters" feature a partially translucent design that complements the BE@RBRICK, making them quite beautiful. These items allow you to enjoy the atmosphere of the Japan National Football Team even while watching games at home.
The "Tumbler" has BE@RBRICK prints on the front and back and a capacity of 300cc, making it a convenient size for the office or school. The "Acrylic Keyholder" is the same size as the 100% BE@RBRICK, and the print is so clear that from a distance, it looks like the real item in its blister pack.
The "Die-Cut Sticker" set includes five types and features a hologram finish for a premium feel compared to regular stickers. The three designs depicting BE@RBRICK playing soccer are an extension of the newly drawn illustrations, created with the intention of expressing movement in BE@RBRICK.
The "Bear Clip" can be used in daily life for activities like makeup or washing your face, and it's also a cute accessory for cheering on the Japan National Football Team, making it a perfect item for women.

— What is the strategy behind this lineup?
SasakiBE@RBRICK has fans across a wide range of cultural fields, including art and fashion. We thought that by merging these fans with soccer fans, we could create new appeal.
Therefore, by offering items like hair clips and coasters, which are not typically found in soccer merchandise, we hope to attract new demographics and encourage them to engage with the products.
AndoWe also aim for soccer fans who may not be familiar with BE@RBRICK to become interested by thinking, "This bear design is stylish."
— It's a diverse lineup that seems suitable for various occasions.
AndoFurthermore, an item we'd like to draw attention to this time is the "Plush Keyholder."
MEDICOM TOY has previously produced BE@RBRICK plush toys, but they pointed out the difficulty in accurately recreating its unique shape. We took on the challenge of producing these difficult-to-make plush toys.
As it's a plush toy, we believe the price point makes it an accessible item for customers.
SasakiWe also have the "Cushion Keyholder." This is a keyholder shaped like the BE@RBRICK face. The amount of stuffing can subtly alter the shape of the face, so careful attention was required during the factory production process.
We believe it has turned out to be a cushion keyholder that is instantly recognizable as "BE@RBRICK," so please look forward to it.
— We eagerly anticipate future developments.
SasakiNothing has been decided at this point, but depending on the reception of this project, we would like to consider producing merchandise featuring the away uniform design. It would also be interesting to create patterns with past uniform designs worn by BE@RBRICK.

— Could you provide information on where to purchase these items, such as pop-up events?
SasakiAll of these products are limited edition premium merchandise. Starting from Friday, June 5th, 2026, sales will commence sequentially at the pop-up store "and ST TOKYO" (Harajuku), as well as the JFA STORE and MEDICOM TOY direct stores.
Resale is a concern with rare collectible items, but we have been in discussions with the retailers and are preparing measures to ensure that as many people as possible can purchase the products. We are not just producing and selling; we have also discussed sales methods in advance and are doing our utmost to meet everyone's expectations.
