The 1941 Disney animated feature "Dumbo" is a heartwarming tale of a circus elephant calf named Dumbo, who is ridiculed for his oversized ears and separated from his mother, only to become a star. Many were likely moved by the iconic scene where he transforms his ears into wings and takes flight.

Director Tim Burton himself was captivated by the film in his childhood.
