"Obake no Q-taro," co-authored with Fujiko A. Fujio, began serialization in Shogakukan's "Weekly Shonen Sunday" in 1964, later expanding to other magazines for various age groups. Its 1965 television anime adaptation sparked a cultural phenomenon known as the "Oba Q Boom."
A sequel manga began serialization in March 1971. In "Shin Obake no Q-taro," Q-chan returns to the human world, joined by his new brother O-jiro, as they engage in humorous escapades with their familiar friends.
This time, Q-chan, O-jiro, P-ko, Doronpa, and U-ko from "Shin Obake no Q-taro" are released as a set of five figures, exclusively available at the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum in Kawasaki City. Let's briefly introduce each character.
Q-chan
A ghost living with the Ohara family, he is best friends with the second son, Shota. He has a hearty appetite and a kind heart, but is terrified of dogs.
O-jiro
Q-chan's younger brother, a ghost whose main utterance is "Bakera-tta." He has the power to dismantle machines by shouting "Bom."
P-ko
Q-chan's younger sister, a ghost who is serious, caring, and devoted to her brother. She is skilled at transforming but not at cooking or sewing.
Doronpa
A ghost from America who came from Texas. He is quite a troublemaker and Q-chan's rival.
U-ko
A tomboy ghost skilled in judo. She often uses Q-chan as a practice partner, frequently throwing him.
UDF stands for ULTRA DETAIL FIGURE. These are meticulously detailed figures of characters, presented in a palm-sized format. Take this opportunity to visit the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum in Kawasaki City, currently hosting an exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio's birth, and collect these charming Q-chan figures.
