INTERIOR FABRIC│
The spiritual richness gained from using good things for a long time

A weaving technique that creates three-dimensionality with weft threads
The designs by Riko Takahashi, rendered in circles and straight lines, possess a captivating charm that, despite their simple elements, evoke a sense of complex wonder and delight.
The flat designs are enhanced by the high-quality jacquard weaving from Kawashima Selkon Textiles, adding a tactile dimension to create visually striking materials.
This time, we've employed a weaving technique that creates three-dimensionality using weft threads. Furthermore, by incorporating various weaves such as plain, satin, and twill, a complex depth is expressed in the texture and color.
While Riko's designs are undeniably impactful, a closer look reveals intricate woven expressions, resulting in unique interior fabrics that are a pleasure to both see and touch.
We've also focused on the tactile experience, using fine-count warp yarns, typically not used in interiors, to achieve a soft feel.

The allure of craftsmanship rooted in a commitment to the unseen details
──What are your impressions of Riko Takahashi's work?
The ability to create designs that evoke various impressions, neither strictly Japanese nor Western, using limited elements and color palettes is a significant appeal.
Beyond the intriguing and delightful designs, I deeply admire the commitment to craftsmanship, which incorporates uniquely Japanese techniques and focuses on the meticulous details behind the creation of each piece.
This resonates with customers who wish to cherish well-made items for a long time. It has been an invaluable experience as an Isetan buyer to collaborate on creating products that I can confidently recommend to our customers.

──Regarding the "ISETAN LIVING×HIROCOLEDGE" project
In an era of abundant goods, large-scale initiatives like this are crucial for effectively conveying messages to customers through our products.
Leveraging the extensive platform of Isetan, buyers have a responsibility to communicate something to a wide audience through our merchandise. In that sense, I believe this endeavor has been highly significant.
──Sales will begin on Wednesday, March 4th.
In the realm of interiors, it is natural to convey a sense of fashion sensibility, but more importantly, we want to effectively communicate the thoughts and intentions of the designers and creators to our customers.
We aim to propose items that foster a sense of attachment, highlighting the spiritual richness derived from using quality goods over time, and the profound connections with others that come from understanding the many artisans involved in their creation.

Among the creations in this project, this material was particularly challenging to envision the final outcome.
I provided the desired finish, and from there, the manufacturers explored feasible ways to realize it.
We determined the design while balancing artistic expression with technical execution, and also striving to meet Buyer Neya's criteria for a pleasant tactile feel and seamless integration into spaces, whether used alone or coordinated with other items.
We hope you will enjoy these fabrics not only for their colors and patterns but also for the intricate woven textures and the resulting nuances they offer from various perspectives.
