At mesm Tokyo, to provide experiences that captivate the senses, the hotel collaborates with various Japanese companies, emphasizing Japanese craftsmanship. In particular, to enhance the auditory experience and allow guests to enjoy music, CASIO's "Privia PX-S1000" has been installed in all guest rooms.
Did you know that mesm Tokyo, the second hotel in Japan to join the "Autograph Collection Hotels," has installed CASIO's latest digital piano, the "Privia PX-S1000," in all of its guest rooms?
With the concept of "TOKYO WAVES," mesm Tokyo offers content and services that reflect the ever-changing cityscape of Tokyo. The "Privia PX-S1000" was chosen as one of the tools to captivate guests' senses and provide original experiences that lead to unexpected encounters and new discoveries.
The "Privia" series, introduced in 2003, aimed to make the coveted piano more accessible by enhancing its core performance, such as sound quality and keyboard touch, while achieving the goal (at the time) of being "half the price and weight" of conventional models. Its latest model, the PX-S1000, returns to the "Privia" concept of a "Private Piano" to be enjoyed in one's own room, achieving an industry-leading slim depth while delivering a touch and beautiful tone that evokes a grand piano. The newly developed "Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard" enables a depth of just 232mm, allowing for easy piano enjoyment without taking up much space in various home environments. Furthermore, it retains essential piano performance features such as excellent repetition speed and grand piano touch.
The operation panel features touch sensors, creating a simple yet advanced design with no visible buttons.
The "Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source" naturally expresses not only changes in volume and tone according to the force of the keystroke but also temporal changes in sound. It reproduces the sympathetic string resonance and mechanical sounds of a grand piano, producing a rich and beautiful tone.
It also features an audio playback function using Bluetooth®. As a Bluetooth® speaker, it can add spaciousness and reverberation of a concert hall, allowing for performances accompanied by favorite songs.
The "Privia PX-S1000," which pioneered a new genre of digital pianos as interior design pieces, features a slim and stylish design that harmonizes with the sophisticated guest rooms of mesm Tokyo, along with a touch that pursues the grand piano experience and a beautiful, rich sound. Guests can enjoy authentic piano performances right in their rooms.
With the ability to play along with 60 built-in songs or experience live music through the Bluetooth® audio playback function, guests can enjoy an unprecedented hotel stay. The private musical moments, set against the backdrop of the ever-changing bay view, will become unique experiences that ultimately create positive waves in their lives.
Currently, with more adults spending time at home creatively during the pandemic, it's not uncommon for adults to pick up a keyboard instrument they've always dreamed of playing. This isn't about tackling difficult classical pieces immediately, but rather the impulse to play favorite songs they hum daily or to create the resonant harmonies of a piano themselves—an extension of everyday life.
"TOKYO WAVES," embodied by mesm Tokyo and CASIO, is precisely the mechanism to fulfill such impulses. A life with music is not exclusive to a select few professionals; it is a creative lifestyle that anyone can achieve with a little effort.
Starting next month, we will present a monthly series featuring top industry professionals who resonate with "TOKYO WAVES," sharing their creative experiences from their unique perspectives. Their original "TOKYO WAVES" will be told from mesm Tokyo.
