BMW and Leica Announce Photo Competition
BMW is holding a photo competition in collaboration with Leica Camera Japan as part of the "BMW 7 Competitions" project, which launched this spring. The grand prize winner will receive, among other prizes, a one-year loan of a BMW 7 Series.

"BMW 7 Competitions" is a project by BMW that supports athletes and artists who strive for excellence in their respective fields. It provides support for competitions and contests in seven areas: golf, equestrianism, clay shooting, triathlon, classic car rallies, photography, and architecture. The project name is derived from the company's flagship model, the BMW 7 Series.
This photo competition, a collaboration with Leica Camera Japan, is being held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Leica, headquartered in Germany. BMW, which also celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016, has partnered with Leica, renowned for its passion and development efforts in creating uncompromising products with top-class mechanical engineering, for this joint event.
The theme of the competition is "Century in Motion." Submissions are broadly welcomed from both professionals and amateurs, seeking works that capture a moment that shines through time, or scenes featuring BMW or Leica. The aim is to foster and nurture new talent.

The judging panel includes representatives from both BMW and Leica Camera Japan, as well as Kundo Koyama, a broadcast writer and scriptwriter, and photographer Harvey Yamashita. The grand prize includes a one-year loan of a BMW 7 Series, a Leica X Vario, and a trip to explore German World Heritage sites with Lufthansa German Airlines.
The submission deadline is July 31 (Thursday). The competition results will be announced in October on the respective companies' websites.
