EPSON
New 6-Color Ink Achieves Wider Color Reproduction with Latest Color Generation Technology
Caralio's New Flagship Model, the "EP-10VA"
The "EP-10VA" has been announced as the new flagship model in EPSON's "Caralio" series of home inkjet printers. This printer, featuring a new 6-color dye ink system that adds "Red" and "Gray" to the basic "Cyan," "Magenta," "Yellow," and "Black" printing colors, allows users to easily enjoy creating detailed photographic works.

6-Color Ink Expands Photographers' Creative Possibilities
The "EP-10VA," newly added to EPSON's "Caralio" series, is an inkjet printer that brings感動 to photo printing with its newly adopted 6-color ink system. The 6 dye inks, enhanced with "Red" and "Gray," are capable of producing prints with rich tonal gradations, from vibrant colors that leverage the glossiness of dyes to smooth gray expressions, all from a single device.
Especially for monochrome prints, the "Epson ClearChrome K2 ink," composed of black and gray inks, significantly improves grayscale gradation and color accuracy. By combining these two inks—using high-density black for dark areas and gray for highlights—rich gradations without muddiness are achieved.
Furthermore, the "EP-10VA" is the first in the Caralio series to fully adopt the latest color generation technology, "LCCS (Logical Color Conversion System)," which is also used in EPSON's professional "Proselection" printer series, favored by many photographers. This ensures smooth gradations, wide color reproduction, and stable photo quality.
Enhanced Firmware Allows Satisfying Prints Without a PC
The printer supports various paper types, including high-gloss "Crispia" photo paper, matte photo paper, and fine art paper (Velvet Fine Art Paper). Users can freely choose from a wider selection of photo papers than typically available at local print shops, adding to the enjoyment of printing at home. It also supports A3 printing and continuous feeding, useful for more than just creative work. Printing large photos on A3 paper to decorate a room is also a delightful option.
Additionally, with the "EP-10VA," simply selecting the "High Vivid Mode" on the printer driver allows for easy correction to vibrant photos that make subjects stand out. Skin tones remain natural while colors are adjusted to be optimal for the print paper, resulting in a more vivid final image.
The new "Auto PhotoFine! EX" function automatically identifies subjects, whether people or landscapes, and corrects them to natural, pleasing colors. In particular, the dark tone reproduction in landscape mode has been improved compared to previous models, vividly rendering the scene captured by the digital camera even in dark areas, while maintaining vibrant colors.
Furthermore, features like "Print with Shooting Information" for convenient photo selection and "Color Correction List Print" for directly checking color adjustments during printing allow users to refine their favorite shots to perfection before printing. These functions can all be used without a PC, making it easy to print your desired works.
