The "4K PHOTO" Function Captures Every Scene
The "4K PHOTO" function in the new LUMIX G7 mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera captures 4K movies as a series of still images at 30 frames per second. By shooting with "4K PHOTO," you can select still images after capture, ensuring you never miss the decisive moment of any scene. You can preserve breathtaking and dynamic moments, such as splashing water droplets or flapping bird wings, that might have been missed even when holding the camera ready, and later select, save, or print them as photos.
With "4K PHOTO," you can achieve high-quality results by shooting according to the scene using three modes: "4K Burst Shooting," "4K Burst Shooting (S/S)," and "4K Pre-burst." "4K Burst Shooting" is a mode that continues continuous shooting while the shutter button is pressed, with a maximum recording time of 29 minutes and 59 seconds. It is effective for capturing subjects with fast movements and few opportunities for a shutter chance.
The "4K Burst Shooting (S/S)" mode, which starts recording when the shutter button is pressed and stops when pressed again, allows you to reliably capture still images of unexpected moments, ideal for photographing pets or children.
The "4K Pre-burst" mode captures approximately 1 second (about 60 frames) before and after the moment the shutter button is pressed. This is suitable for scenes where the situation changes instantly and you want to select the best shot.
Furthermore, the AF function has been enhanced compared to previous models. The prediction function for subject movement has also improved in accuracy, with the subject tracking performance of the AF reportedly nearly doubling. Additionally, two dials for adjusting shooting settings have been placed at the front and rear of the top of the body to improve operability, and an EVF (electronic viewfinder) that displays high-definition images has been adopted.

The top dial area has also evolved from the previous model. Two dials are arranged front and back, allowing for various operations and settings while immersed in shooting.
The "4K PHOTO" function captures "every moment," encouraging you to point your lens at scenes you might have previously given up on photographing. By engaging with subjects that were difficult to capture before, perhaps new creative photographic expressions will emerge.
