Exploring the Creativity of Interior Designers
In this talk series, designer Kenmei Nagaoka will engage in dialogue with the guests, while architect Takayoshi Hiranuma will moderate. The series invites creators from diverse fields to discuss their current perspectives within their respective domains, fostering a cross-disciplinary approach to design.
Now in its fourth year, this year's series focuses on designers active in interior and spatial design, offering insights rarely heard elsewhere.
The guest on Friday, February 20, is Shigeki Hattori, representative of 'graf,' a creative collective based in Osaka. 'graf' is active across a broad spectrum, from furniture, spatial, and product design to graphics, food, and art. Their work is rooted in community, guided by the keyword 'structure for living.'
The guest on Saturday, February 21, is interior designer Hisae Igarashi. Her work spans interior design, spatial design for shops such as 'TSUMORI CHISATO' and 'LuncH,' furniture, installations, and product development. Her designs are characterized by their warmth, leveraging the inherent qualities of materials.
While we often encounter the work of interior designers, opportunities to hear directly from them are rare. This event promises to be an intimate glimpse into their creative process. The talk series comprises four sessions, with upcoming installments in March featuring spatial designer Yusuke Seki and product/spatial designer Teruhiro Yanagihara.
