A Space Design Where Sophistication Meets Warmth

At the 98th New York ADC Awards, the creative agency led by Shun Kawakami,
arless (artless) received Bronze for "artless craft tea & coffee" and Merit for "Mist hot spring hotel."




artless craft tea & coffee opened in Harajuku, Tokyo, in 2016. It was previously featured in our magazine. In 2017, it relocated to under the elevated tracks in Nakameguro, Tokyo. Here, you can enjoy hand-drip coffee in a serene space that blends Japanese aesthetics with modern design.

Meanwhile, "Mist hot spring hotel" is a resort hotel located in Henan Province, China. This area is renowned for its hot springs, and the hotel offers an attractive destination for tourists both domestic and international. artless handled the total branding for the project, resulting in a design that incorporates warm colors and materials within a futuristic aesthetic.





Regarding this award, Kawakami commented, "It was wonderful to feel the current trends and atmosphere of advertising and communication firsthand while viewing the award-winning works at the ceremony. Participating made me feel that perhaps awards in NY are only truly validated when projects from NY or the US receive them, and that perhaps they hold no intrinsic meaning, as I observed the audience's reactions. It has rekindled my initial aspiration and longing to reach the next stage by undertaking projects in NY and the US, providing a good opportunity and a valuable time."
