steteco.com TOKYO LABO

Now Open Inside Tokyo Station's "Écouter Tokyo"!

steteco.com TOKYO LABO: The First Direct-Managed Store

Écouter Tokyo, opening on the first floor of Tokyo Station's South Court, embraces the concept of “Nippon Re-STANDARD.” Within its three zones—Sweets, Foods, and Goods—31 shops showcase a masterful collection of “things and experiences that leverage Japanese craftsmanship.” The newly opened shop, "steteco.com TOKYO LABO," is one of them. We delve into the unexpected combination of "station-in-a-station and steteco" and the resulting chemical reaction.

"steteco.com" was established with the aim of reviving and newly creating steteco culture. As a contemporary form of relaxing wear, they propose steteco that integrates into the modern Japanese lifestyle, through collaborations with musicians and other initiatives.

True to its name, "steteco.com TOKYO LABO" at Écouter Tokyo functions as a select shop, serving as the archive for the "steteco research institute."

Here, they offer not only "steteco.com" products but also a curated selection of items that resonate with the Japanese lifestyle. These include comfortable socks developed with a focus on the functionality of Japanese paper, and mobile phone covers crafted using the traditional "Inden" technique of lacquering deerskin. All items are gathered from across Japan, serving as reference materials for further research.

Objects born from uniquely Japanese inspiration that soothe and delight everyday life. Items that leverage Japanese technology, are functionally superior, yet possess a distinct Japanese flair..

"steteco.com TOKYO LABO" reinterprets these elements in three dimensions, presenting their new charm. Could the act of "buying steteco at the station" become the new standard, during commutes or business trips? The day may be closer than we think!
