Latest Film "Parasyte" Opens November 29 (Sat)

When you hear the name Genki Kawamura, you might recall the film "Densha Otoko" (Train Man), which he produced at the young age of 26, becoming a massive hit with box office revenues of 3.7 billion yen. Since then, he has produced a string of hits too numerous to list here, including "Confessions," "Villain," "Moteki," and "Wolf Children." If you look into hit films, you'll likely find yourself thinking, "This one was produced by Genki Kawamura too?!" His latest film, "Parasyte," is set to be released on Saturday, November 29th.

Recently, he has also been focusing on his work as a novelist, garnering significant attention. His debut novel, "If Cats Disappeared from the World," was nominated for the Honya Taisho (Booksellers Award) and has sold over 700,000 copies, becoming a bestseller. A film adaptation starring Takeru Satoh and Aoi Miyazaki is also in the works. Furthermore, his picture book "TINNY: The Story of the Balloon Dog" (co-authored with Kenjiro Sano) has been adapted into an anime series by NHK and is currently airing to great acclaim.

This year, he published "Shigoto." (Work.), a collection of conversations with 12 masters including Hayao Miyazaki and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and his second novel, "Otokou" (The Man Who Earned Billions), which was serialized in BRUTUS magazine. Both have become bestsellers.

Genki Kawamura's activities extend far beyond film planning and production. We invite you to enjoy a moment at the THINK venue where you can glimpse into the mind that holds the secret to his success: “The secret to a hit lies within your own heart.” We sincerely look forward to your attendance.
