Japan's Sole CMF Design Exhibition "Ao Fes" to Be Held

CMF: A Key Design Element in Europe, South Korea, and China
CMF refers to the surfaces present in all objects and is composed of three elements: "COLOR" (e.g., reds, blues, yellows), "MATERIAL" (e.g., wood, resin, metal), and "FINISH" (e.g., glossy, matte surface treatments).
Launched in 2011 and now in its third year, "Ao Fes" is an exhibition aimed at imbuing excellent technologies with new value through a CMF design perspective, creating markets, and revitalizing Japanese manufacturing. It offers a "space" for new discoveries to designers and developers active in various fields.
This year's "Ao Fes" will also feature a "CMF DESIGN EXHIBITION" showcasing numerous CMF designs, and "Digital meets CMF," an exhibition that crosses over computational design with CMF design, held at a separate venue.
An Idea Source for Product Designers, Architects, and More
The "CMF DESIGN EXHIBITION" will display CMF designs that spark design inspiration, featuring materials such as metals and fabrics, as well as coating and special molding technologies from 15 technical and material manufacturers. Talk shows and manufacturer presentations will also be held.
Furthermore, within the same venue, in collaboration with "ICEP (International Creative Exchange Programme)," an NPO supporting the expansion of creators' activities, experimental material exhibits by young designers will also be presented.
Meanwhile, "Digital meets CMF" at a separate venue is co-hosted with AppliCraft, a company dealing with application software.
Explore the venues, touch and feel the CMF and materials firsthand, and discover sources of design inspiration.
