The Owner's Vision of an "ENOUGH" Lifestyle
Countless objects and designs fill our world. Contemplating their essence and pondering their origins is one of the joys of truly understanding design. This time, we introduce a shop in Fukuoka that proposes a way to engage with design through everyday life.

Organ: A Shop That Plays Design Like Music
A short distance from the city center of Fukuoka, in front of a train station, stands a charming, standalone building. The glass door that serves as the entrance to the building bears the small, elegant lettering of "organ." Ascending the stairs to the third floor, where the shop is located, I paused. Stepping into an unfamiliar shop for the first time, no matter the city or establishment, always brings a slight sense of anticipation. New encounters and fresh surprises. It's not for that reason alone, but I always feel a sense of respect for the things and people that lie beyond that door.

Organ is now known for dealing in vintage furniture and雑貨 from Scandinavia and America, but in truth, it's a shop where a free spirit flows, dealing not just with objects but with life itself.
While handling a wide range of items from various countries, the common thread seems to be a focus on beautifully designed, functional objects that have been thoughtfully created.
The inherent nature of vessels and chairs as tools for human use reflects the history of tools created by humans as needed. One's personal way of living and one's own sense of freedom. I feel that this reflects the owner's mindset at Organ, who contemplates an "ENOUGH" lifestyle.
Launched in April 2008 from a single room in a 30-year-old apartment building, Organ's new project "ENOUGH - Living with Shoes On" was a proposal for a lifestyle that embraces living as it is, unswayed by rapidly changing interior styles and information.
This doesn't mean stubbornly insisting on wearing shoes indoors. Asserting and adhering to a single, fixed style is not, in itself, a proposal for freedom; it leads to a lack of freedom, bound by a certain concept. Therefore, wearing shoes—living with shoes on—can be interpreted as a proposal for diverse ways of living: living with shoes on, living barefoot, or living in indoor slippers. It's a lifestyle project that allows us to feel a pure, unwavering aspiration, distinct from fleeting trends or daily whims.

Design begins with an admiration for form and culminates in function. It is a kind of meticulous consideration for the user's feelings. While looking at the various designs at Organ, one can touch upon the fundamental essence of design.
