Interior by Landscape Products Reflects the Owner's Taste

Ueda City in Nagano Prefecture is the birthplace of the Sanada clan, a prominent samurai family. Amidst the charming streets that retain the atmosphere of a castle town, a shop is drawing people together through its curated selection of goods, poised to lead Nagano's cultural scene into the future.

The store is named arkansas. It opened in March 2008. Spanning approximately 110 square meters with a long, deep layout, the interior features timeless, everyday wear elegantly displayed near the entrance, with a corner for lifestyle goods towards the back. Both are carefully selected by the owner's discerning eye, blending harmoniously without dividing the space.



Owner Takashi Yumoto had a vague idea of creating a shop where people of all ages and genders could enjoy "good things" when,For stockisitshe visited "For stockisits," his concept solidified.

"For stockisits" was a joint exhibition held for three days from September 5, 2007, at playout gallery in Harajuku, Tokyo, featuring 17 domestic interior and design manufacturers and shops. This event, which brought together a diverse group of participants and demonstrated how people connect through objects, garnered attention even from some international media. It presented new possibilities for future craftsmanship and exhibitions.

Mr. Yumoto combined the lifestyle goods exhibited at "For stockisits" with items he had previously curated, forming his unique vision in preparation for arkansas's opening. The interior design was handled by Landscape Products, known for numerous acclaimed shop designs. The space, primarily white, is accented with touches of light blue. Two large windows at the entrance allow for a pleasant influx of natural light.



Furthermore, what truly stands out is how every aspect—from the displays and layout to the customer service—is tailored to the visitor's perspective. "Always aiming to bring joy" is the guiding principle, with the owner's personality shining through in every detail.
