Furniture Reflecting Meticulous Craftsmanship

The charm of antique furniture is polished by time and human hands. Over time, it becomes an indispensable part of life, inextricably linked with affection, like the very air we breathe. This, however, is a privilege reserved only for the finest pieces.

Lloyd's Antiques opened its first store in 1988. It is a pioneering antique furniture specialist with eight stores currently operating in Tokyo, Kobe, and Hakata. Ahead of its 20th anniversary next year, the Himonya shop was renovated and reopened as "Lloyd's Antiques EGOIST" in June 2007.

Upon entering, one is struck by the exquisite taste in how items from various countries, styles, and eras are skillfully mixed to evoke actual living spaces. Furniture from eras where solid craftsmanship remained, born in different times and places, each piece conveys the quality of a rich past.

The spatial design here is original, with a concept distinct from Lloyd's existing stores.
The interior design is by British designer Michael Bernard. A room with Gothic-style, imposing furniture and flags, and a table with a stone top. A room with a 20th-century French iron bed, illuminated by a chandelier...

The 200-tsubo space is divided into seven rooms, each with a different concept, including the entrance space. These are separated by antique iron fences, and within each room, only carefully selected antique furniture is beautifully arranged. Yet, what is presented is not the extraordinary, but an elevated everyday life that suggests human habitation.

There is a reason why the high-quality furniture displayed in the store looks almost new. Antiques gathered from across Europe are meticulously restored at our own factory in central England before being sent to Japan.

Due to their antique nature, no two pieces of furniture in the store are exactly alike. The joy of selecting antiques is also in the unique, once-in-a-lifetime encounter with each piece. Visiting here is sure to expand your opportunities to find antique furniture that you can cherish for a lifetime.
