Bringing a Fresh Breeze to the Modern Dining Table
Masao Kozumi's glass works evoke a nostalgic, hand-blown quality, with a unique softness that sometimes echoes ancient pottery, creating a sense of approachable familiarity perfect for everyday use.
As Fumihiko Oshima, owner of the tableware shop "Rōzan" in Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo, has aptly named it "Wa Glass" (Japanese Glass), Kozumi's creations pair beautifully with Japanese cuisine and sake. Naturally, they also complement Japanese ceramics, bringing a fresh perspective to the contemporary dining table.

Paper Balloon Workshop Held on Sunday, August 31
Pull the string and a pulley spins, making the balloon ascend; release it, and it descends. Join paper craft artist Nozomi Ishii of kuralica for a workshop to create these "moving hot air balloons" with fun mechanisms. Reservations are required. The workshop will be held at Kagure Omotesando on Sunday, August 31.
Cut out the unfolded pieces, fold, and glue them together. Decorate the pulley with suns, stars, rainbows, flowers, moons, portraits, favorite phrases, letters, or numbers to create your own original hot air balloon.

Born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture in 1979. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Scenography, Display and Costume Design in 2002. After graduation, she began creating mechanical devices using paper, a more accessible material. In 2006, she began her activities as "kuralica." Through exhibitions, events, and workshops, she presents a world of "paper mechanics" where flat surfaces transform into three-dimensional moving objects, creating a sense of wonder and delight.
