Have you heard of the term "toy camera"?

These cameras, aptly named "toys," are a revival by the Austrian manufacturer "lomography." For about a decade, they've been a hit, particularly among art-conscious young people, for their unique "color tones" and "playfulness" that digital cameras can't replicate. They are now popular enough to have a flagship store in Minami-Aoyama.

The developed photos have a distinctive, rich quality, as if they were retouched with Photoshop.

Among these toy cameras, the "DIANA" series, which first appeared in the 1960s and has been revived and gained popularity by the company, has now collaborated with the TV animation "Scarecrowman," based on the original work by the creative group "play set products," known for their numerous character illustrations.

This work depicts the friendship and adventures between Scarecrowman, a scarecrow, and his toys, with the concept of "cherishing things and the joy of being useful to others," rendered in CG animation.

The reason for this collaboration is that Scarecrowman actually uses a "DIANA F+" in the 11th episode, "Family Photo." The product was realized through a proposal from the original author, who wondered, "Could this form be released as an actual product?"

The body and package design were handled by the original author, play set products. The entire body is unified in black, with Scarecrowman icons placed here and there. The logo on the upper right of the body is inscribed with "SCARECROWMAN" in the style of an old camera logo.

Surprisingly, this is the first custom order from Japan for a toy camera made by lomography.

This collaboration, with its many commonalities—"cute, warm, and somehow nostalgic"—is a perfect match. We hope you'll carry it with you as a companion for your daily outings, embodying Scarecrowman's spirit of cherishing things.

The area around the lens also has a slightly different design from the standard model.
