Aiming to build community through the production of safe and secure food
Focus on the activities of the organic farming group "Muchachaen" in Ehime
Akehama Town, Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture—This is a place blessed with abundant sunlight, facing the Uwajima Sea, a citrus-growing region. The contrast of sea, sky, and mountains created by the changing seasons on the terraced fields is magnificent. In this town, long known for its citrus and pearls, lies the organic farming group "Muchachaen."

A town with beautiful Japanese mountains and sea that makes you want to support it with your purchases
Life connecting mountains to the sea—Muchachaen began with just 15 ares of Iyo-kan orange fields in Akehama Town. The group's activities center on the production and sale of citrus fruits, grown without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, and with minimal pesticide use. Today, over 80 citrus farmers in Akehama are engaged in cultivating citrus with a low environmental impact under the banner of Muchachaen.
Among the producers are fishermen who catch whitebait and those whose livelihood is pearl farming. For over 30 years, Muchachaen has been committed to expanding organic agriculture in the region, while preserving the rich natural environment that is the area's treasure.

Muchachaen aims to create environmentally friendly citrus by pursuing the goal of "creating a pleasant rural environment for the entire community, with agriculture at its core," and by recognizing that "if pesticides are minimized in citrus cultivation, the soil remains healthy, water flowing into the sea is not polluted, allowing for the catch of delicious whitebait and the cultivation of high-quality pearls."
Muchachaen focuses on direct mail sales, delivering produce directly to over 8,000 consumer members nationwide. Their citrus offerings include Wenzhou mandarins, ponkan, Iyo-kan, navel oranges, Natsumikan, Dekopon, lemons, and more.
They sell seasonal produce grown outdoors year-round.

Introducing "yaetoco," organic cosmetics based on citrus from Muchachaen
From this organic farming group, Muchachaen, comes "yaetoco," a line of organic cosmetics based on citrus. Yaetoco is named after the shout "Ya-e-to-ko-" from Akehama's autumn festival and is presented as a brand that creates new value for Muchachaen.
The first items released by Yaetoco are lotions, milky lotions, and essential oils made from essential oils carefully extracted via steam distillation from the peels of citrus fruits cultivated without herbicides, chemical fertilizers, and with minimal pesticides. The gentle aroma, characteristic of citrus, soothes both mind and body.
