A New Collection Rich in Design and Color Variations
Jasper Morrison is renowned for designs that eschew excessive ornamentation, focusing instead on practicality and fulfilling specific needs. These are known as "Super Normal" (also the title of an exhibition with Naoto Fukasawa in 2006), forming the core of his design philosophy. The "HAL" chair is truly "Super Normal." It fulfills its function in any setting—home, restaurant, studio, or office—seamlessly integrating into the space.
The "HAL" series reimagines the plastic unibody chair by independently designing and combining the shell and base. The shell, with its striking interplay of clean lines and curves, comfortably supports the body, whether seated sideways or straddling the chair. Available in a wide spectrum of colors, from soft pastels to vibrant accents, and made with materials suitable for outdoor use, these chairs are envisioned for diverse situations.
Naturally, safety is paramount, maintenance is simple, and the materials are recyclable. In today's world where "sustainability" is a key concern, experiencing this chair, brimming with possibilities, is a must.
Jasper Morrison
Born in London in 1959, Jasper Morrison studied at Kingston Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art before establishing his own design studio in 1994. His career began with an installation for "documenta 8" in Kassel, followed by an installation for Vitra titled "New Items for the Home" in 1988, consistently pursuing a fusion of design and art.
Morrison's designs embody elements that can be considered the origin of minimalism, a major current in contemporary British design. He most distinctively represents the "New Simplicity" that defines the mainstream of modern furniture. His ability to fuse originality, practicality, and artistic expression makes him one of the most successful designers today.
