FCA Japan announced that it will stream "ALFA ROMEO TV," a commemorative event for Alfa Romeo's 110th anniversary, online via YouTube on Wednesday, June 24th, starting at 7:30 PM.
Online Event Held to Prevent COVID-19 Spread
According to FCA Japan, a live event originally planned for Saturday, June 27th, was moved online due to considerations for COVID-19 prevention. To express gratitude to fans, the special event "ALFA ROMEO TV" will be streamed on the "Alfa Romeo" YouTube channel starting at 7:30 PM on June 24th.
The event will be hosted by Hiroki Ando, a former TBS announcer (now freelance) and a juror for the Japan Car of the Year committee. Guests will include Tetsuya Kato, president of Car Graphic and a leading Alfista in Japan, and Kei Takeoka, a motor journalist who has competed in the All Japan Rally Championship with Alfa Romeo. Three main content segments are planned:
Main Content: Announcement of "ALFA ROMEO General Election" Results
Under the philosophy of "La Meccanica delle emozioni" (The Mechanics of Emotion), Alfa Romeo has created numerous historic masterpieces. Drivers worldwide are captivated by their beautiful Italian design and exhilarating performance, fostering a passionate fanbase known as Alfisti.
The results of the "ALFA ROMEO General Election," which selected the No. 1 model from Alfa Romeo's history in Japan, built over 110 years through this fervent "love," will be announced. Ten lucky voters will receive a special gift: a set of two original Arita-yaki mamezara (small soy sauce dishes) featuring the traditional Alfa Romeo emblem.
Interview with the Director of the Alfa Romeo Museum
An interview with Lorenzo Ardizio from the Alfa Romeo Historic Museum in Italy will be featured. Ardizio hails from the village where the Balocco test track, considered the mecca of Alfa Romeo, is located. He grew up watching his father, a former test driver for the company, and has acquired extensive knowledge of Alfa Romeo. The interviewer is Yo Matsumoto, a writer and columnist based in Nice, France, who has deep ties with the company.
A Leading Automotive Photographer Shares "How to Beautifully Photograph Alfa Romeo"
As part of the 110th-anniversary event, an "ALFA ROMEO Photo Contest" will be held starting June 24th. In anticipation, Yoshifumi Ogawa, who was involved from the launch of the legendary "NAVI" magazine and has handled advertising photography for numerous domestic and international automakers, will share his "secrets to beautifully photographing Alfa Romeo."
Additionally, "congratulatory messages" from fans and stakeholders will be presented, along with other exclusive, archival content.
"ALFA ROMEO TV" is scheduled to begin streaming on the "Alfa Romeo" YouTube channel on Wednesday, June 24th, at 7:30 PM.
