Featuring a unique wind deflector, comfort remains a priority
Following the "Valhalla Coupe" announced earlier this year, the open-top "Valhalla Spider" has arrived. The Valhalla Coupe is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar and the first mid-engine production car from Aston Martin. The Valhalla Spider allows you to enjoy that same performance in an open-air environment.

The Valhalla Spider is Aston Martin's first mid-engine, open-cockpit supercar. Its design and development were carried out in close collaboration with Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT), the consulting arm of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team.
While the exterior inherits the sleek and fluid body lines of the coupe, it incorporates a comprehensive roof system designed to handle any driving situation.

The standard black fabric roof provides protection during sudden weather changes and allows for speeds up to 200 km/h. Furthermore, opting for the carbon-fiber hardtop allows for unrestricted driving up to the electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h even while the roof is fitted.
The car can reach its top speed even with the roof removed, making it the fastest open-cockpit model in Aston Martin history.

Beyond performance, comfort is also a priority. A unique wind deflector has been adopted to manage airflow over the open cockpit. It can be quickly clipped into place when the roof panel is removed, playing a dual role in controlling airflow from the top of the windshield while simultaneously channeling cooling air into the snorkel.
The snorkel itself has been optimized for this open-top model, positioned 35mm higher than on the coupe. Additionally, refined active aerodynamics and ESP calibration detect and adapt to changes in airflow when the roof is fitted or removed, ensuring the vehicle's balance and stability are maintained.

The car comes standard with newly designed carbon-fiber touring seats, designed to enhance comfort when the roof is on and facilitate easier entry and exit. However, those seeking a more dynamic driving experience can also select the same carbon-fiber seats found in the coupe model.
The powertrain is the same plug-in hybrid system found in the coupe, producing a total output of 1,079 ps and 1,100 Nm of torque.

At its heart is a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 828 ps. This engine, unique to the Valhalla, boasts a specific output of 210 ps per liter—the highest for any internal combustion engine in Aston Martin's history.
This is supplemented by three electric motors—two at the front and one integrated into the eight-speed transmission—along with a high-performance battery (HPB), adding 215 ps to the total power output. The third motor specifically assists the V8 engine to drive the rear axle and the electronically controlled differential (e-diff).

The front and rear axles are not mechanically linked; instead, power distribution to each wheel is constantly managed by Aston Martin's proprietary Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system. It works in conjunction with four drive modes to optimize performance, contributing to a sense of total unity between driver and machine.
Aerodynamic performance has also been optimized specifically for the Spider. Beyond adjusting the active aerodynamics settings, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) has been recalibrated to ensure consistent aerodynamic performance and vehicle handling whether the roof is on or off. Additionally, the maximum downforce with the roof fitted exceeds 600 kg, matching the coupe model.

The chassis features a dedicated carbon-fiber tub designed and developed using F1-derived technology, offering superior rigidity, strength, and weight reduction. Carbon fiber is also used for the dihedral doors, which feature a refined mechanism for smoother operation and a frameless design.
Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark commented, "The Valhalla Spider expands the enjoyment of an open-cockpit supercar and the sense of connection between driver and car. High speed or low speed. Rain or shine. Roof on or roof off. Road or track. The Valhalla Spider delivers on all counts." We look forward to its debut in Las Vegas.

Q. What kind of model is the "Valhalla" to Aston Martin, fundamentally?
CEO Adrian Hallmark has stated that the Valhalla Coupe "broke new ground in many areas." He cites as examples that it is the company's first plug-in hybrid, the first to feature Aston Martin's proprietary flat-plane crank V8 engine, the first to adopt a newly developed 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and the pioneer of a new design language. He further notes that the Valhalla Spider takes these "firsts" and evolves them even further.

Q. How is the four-wheel drive controlled?
Two electric motors drive the front e-axle, using full electric torque vectoring (E-TV) to enhance both agility and stability. The Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) electronic system monitors the suspension, brakes, steering, active aerodynamics, and powertrain systems. Furthermore, it works with four driver-selectable drive modes to constantly monitor vehicle behavior and driver input, adjusting driving characteristics in real time.
Q. How does active aerodynamics affect the driving experience?
The Valhalla Spider combines precise control of movable aerodynamic surfaces and underbody airflow to constantly adjust front and rear downforce based on driving conditions and the selected drive mode. This maximizes grip, handling balance, and response consistency while simultaneously reducing air resistance. By featuring active aerodynamic mechanisms at both the front and rear, it enables high-precision control of downforce distribution between the two axles. This system is identical to the one first introduced on the Valhalla Coupe, meaning the Spider and Coupe share the same underlying hardware and software foundation.
