The Crystallization of Two Italian Brands' Affection
The convertible version of the FIAT 500, the latest iteration of the collaboration between Fiat and Diesel that began in 2008, made its global debut in Japan on April 12th. When Fiat's celebrated pop icon met Diesel, the result was a model brimming with even more creativity and playfulness.

Unique Colors & Designs That Capture Every Gaze
The Japanese specification of the FIAT 500C by Diesel is a special limited edition model based on the 1.2-liter version, featuring numerous original items. Worldwide, 1.3-liter and 1.4-liter lineups are also planned, with sales commencing in Italy in May. The already released saloon model has recorded approximately 6,500 sales globally. The convertible version that follows is a model that strongly aligns with the fashion brand Diesel in its casual yet sophisticated appeal, further enhancing its allure.
Exterior highlights include a Diesel logo on the air intake, yellow brake calipers (on the 1.4 100HP version only), and gloss-plated moldings, all contributing to a design that is instantly recognizable. Shifting your gaze from the five iconic cooling grilles on the rear left, a hallmark of the classic FIAT 500, to the right reveals the prominent Diesel logo.
Renzo Rosso, the founder and current president of Diesel, commented:
"This collaboration isn't just about adding a Diesel logo. Various ingenious details are sprinkled throughout the interior. While the interior fabric is original, as it was last time, for this convertible, we've also introduced a blue inspired by the indigo of denim for the exterior."
Diesel Green, inspired by Rosso's private jet, and Midnight Indigo Blue, befitting its name as an 'urban survival car' for navigating the city. Both are hues that accentuate the brand's casual yet premium image.
The interior is equally distinctive. The seats are upholstered in denim fabric with yellow stitching, and the dashboard is finished in a titanium matte color. Additionally, a small pocket reminiscent of the coin pocket on Diesel jeans is attached to the side of the front seats.
Functionally, a notable feature is the inclusion of the 'Start & Stop' idling-stop system, a first for a Japanese-specification FIAT model. Furthermore, it is equipped with a 5-speed sequential transmission with AT mode, 'Dualogic,' and 'bi-xenon headlights.' It is also scheduled to be unveiled at the Milan Salone International Furniture Fair on April 15th.
