Promising Results to Meet Expectations

The press conference was attended by Honda President Takanobu Ito, F1 Project General Manager Yasuhisa Arai, McLaren-Honda drivers Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, and McLaren Representative Ron Dennis, all of whom spoke about their enthusiasm for the season's opening race.

Honda President Ito stated, "We want to meet our fans' expectations by cultivating our technology and personnel in the extreme world of F1 and by continuing to win." He also added, "The adoption of hybrid systems under the new regulations was a major motivation for our participation," highlighting the new significance of Honda's involvement in motorsport, which drives the company's image.

Alonso commented, "I am honored to be a part of this new chapter in McLaren-Honda's history. I am looking forward to the season opener." Button said, "I am happy to be participating with Honda again." Dennis vowed, "It may take some time, but we will definitely achieve results."

The venue was packed with media, and the area around the historic Grand Prix cars displayed in front of the headquarters was crowded with passersby who stopped to look. The public's keen interest in Honda's return to F1 after a seven-year absence was evident.

The 2015 F1 Grand Prix season will commence in Australia (March 13-15) with a total of 20 races scheduled. The Japanese Grand Prix will be held at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture from September 25-27.
