Like a Cool British Villain

Last year'sTokyo Motor Showworld premiere, the Jaguar F-Type Coupe, which garnered much attention, has finally launched in Japan. The F-Type, inheriting the spirit of the legendary E-Type, F-Type, plays a significant role in re-establishing Jaguar's image as a sports car manufacturer, a reputation built on its success in racing.

While the open-top F-Type Convertible debuted a year earlier in 2012, the coupe model is closer to the work of Jaguar's Design Director, Ian Callum, the C-X16 concept, which served as the design foundation. Its flowing roofline is one of the iconic elements inherited by the F-Type Coupe.

Beneath its lightweight all-aluminum body, three engine options are available. The entry-grade "F-Type Coupe" features a 3-liter V6 engine delivering a maximum output of 250 kW (340 ps) and 450 Nm of torque. The more performance-oriented "F-Type S Coupe" boasts a maximum output of 280 kW (380 ps) and 460 Nm of torque, also powered by a 3-liter V6 engine.

The top-tier "F-Type R Coupe" is equipped with a 5-liter V8 supercharged engine, producing a formidable 495 kW (550 ps) and 680 Nm of torque, befitting the R model's status. Prices start at 8.23 million yen for the "F-Type Coupe," 10.29 million yen for the "F-Type S Coupe," and 12.86 million yen for the flagship "F-Type R Coupe." All models are available in right-hand drive.



The commemorative event celebrating the F-Type Coupe's launch in Japan was held at the British Embassy, themed "British Villains."

Jaguar positions the F-Type Coupe as a "game-changer" that will "turn the tables with its intelligence and elegance, much like a cool British villain," and is rolling out promotions worldwide.Starting from late June, various promotional activities, including television commercials, are scheduled to take place in Japan.

At the British Embassy venue, Anna Tsuchiya and Angelica Lee appeared as partners to the stylish villain (the F-Type Coupe). "It's just incredibly cool. I'm thrilled by the jewel-like design and the powerful sound," said Anna. Angelica commented, "I especially love the rear styling. It reminds me of my work as a model; the rear view is a crucial point."

On stage, the two showcased "British Villains"-inspired outfits and kept the audience engaged with a talk about the F-Type Coupe and fashion until the end.
