Scheduled for Release in Japan from October
In 2014, Maserati celebrates its 100th anniversary and has unveiled the commemorative "Centennial Special Edition" models at the New York and Beijing Motor Shows. The "Centennial Special Edition" is available for both the coupe "GranTurismo MC Stradale" and the open-top model "GranCabrio MC." Following their worldwide launch in July, sales in Japan will commence in October.
In addition to the four body colors currently offered for the GranTurismo MC Stradale and GranCabrio MC, these Centennial Special Edition models introduce three new variations featuring a special three-layer paint finish. Four types of wheels, designed to evoke a sporty atmosphere, are also exclusively available.
Among the specially prepared three-layer body colors, "Rosso Magma" and "Blu Inchiostro" are particularly noteworthy, as they are inspired by the traditional colors symbolizing Bologna, the northern Italian city where Maserati was founded in 1914.
The exterior allows for an exclusive image through the combination of body color and wheels. The dedicated wheels, finished in "Matte Smoke" or "Charcoal Grey" depending on the body color, feature a 100th-anniversary logo on the center cap and accent colors that clearly communicate its special status to onlookers.
Particularly striking are the 20-inch "MC Design" wheels (fitted to the red-bodied car in the photo), which feature a design motif of the trident's spearhead at the spoke ends that extend to the wheel rim. This design shares a conceptual similarity with the wheels used on the "Alfieri" concept car, named after the founder, making it a detail that will surely excite enthusiasts.

Special Interior and Exterior Color Combinations
The interior features dedicated color schemes coordinated with each of the seven available body colors, including special options. High-quality leather seats, door panels, armrests, steering wheel, and floor carpets are enhanced with design accents primarily in red, white, and blue, clearly differentiating them from the standard catalog lineup. The trident emblem on the headrests and the surrounding lines are also coordinated with this color scheme.
Carbon fiber accent trim is applied to the dashboard, seatbacks, and center console, while the 100th-anniversary logo is placed on the side sill plates, creating an impression of exclusivity within a sporty design.
As previously reported, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Special Edition is equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine producing a maximum output of 338 kW (460 ps) and a peak torque of 520 Nm (53.0 kgm), paired with a 6-speed MC Shift (robotized manual transmission), achieving a top speed of 303 km/h. To match this exceptional performance, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes are standard, ensuring enhanced stopping power.
The "Centennial Special Edition," which Maserati fans will eagerly await its October release in Japan, promises to be a memorable collection for this commemorative centennial year, marking Maserati's 100th anniversary.
