TwinAir Base Also Debuts

Last November, a limited edition "500 Super Pop" was released in 300 units to commemorate 20,000 domestic sales of the 500. Its attractive price, lower than the base model, proved popular. Now, following that limited edition, comes the "Super Pop 2" as its successor.

The "Super Pop 2" introduces a model based on the "TwinAir Pop," featuring a 0.9-liter, two-cylinder engine that produces 63kW (85ps) at 5,500 rpm and 145Nm (14.8kgm) of torque at 1,900 rpm. The other model is based on the "500 1.2 Pop," powered by a 1.2-liter engine delivering 51kW (69ps) at 5,500 rpm and 102Nm (10.4kgm) of torque at 3,000 rpm.


Both models feature a Bossa Nova White body with exclusive badges and vintage-style shadow chrome mirror covers. The interior is appointed with pop-red seats and a leather shift knob bearing a special logo.


Including the 5% consumption tax, the "1.2 Super Pop 2" is priced at 1.79 million yen, 200,000 yen less than the base model, with 200 units available. The "Twin Air Super Pop 2" is also limited to 200 units and, including the 5% consumption tax, is priced at 1.99 million yen, 210,000 yen less than its base model, falling under the 2 million yen mark.
