Bentley unveiled the world's first all-electric vehicle (BEV), the Torcal, in London.

The full picture of Bentley's first BEV, the Torcal, is finally revealed.
The BEV Torcal appears as Bentley's fourth model, following the Continental GT coupe, Flying Spur sedan, and Bentayga SUV.
It embodies an exterior that is unmistakably Bentley, even as a BEV. The combination of Bentley's design principles, 'Upright Elegance' and 'Endless Bonnet,' creates Bentley's unique presence.
The front face projects the legacy of Bentley's iconic models, including the Continental T. It has been reinterpreted with new lighting technology and a distinctive illuminated grille.
The rear is styled in accordance with the 'Prestigius Shield' design principle, first introduced in the concept car EXP 15 announced in 2025.
The body shape tapers towards the rear of the cabin, giving dynamism to the area around the rear wheels, creating a style the design team calls the 'Resting Beast'.
The design philosophy extends to the interior, with finely knurled dials and reinterpreted bullseye air vents symbolizing Bentley's heritage.
The seats are also newly designed. Standard seats feature 16-way adjustment, seat heating, and newly developed relaxation functions. Optionally available is the 'Postural Adjust
ment' and the 'Smart Seat Climate' system, which automatically controls heating and ventilation to maintain the optimal cabin temperature for passenger comfort on long journeys.
Five wheel designs are available for the lower body. The basic 'Core' model comes standard with 21-inch wheels, while the sportier 'S' model with enhanced exterior styling features 22-inch 10-spoke wheels.
The drivetrain features motors at the front and rear. The 'Core' model delivers a maximum output of 821 ps and a maximum torque of 1,194 Nm, while the 'S' model boasts 888 ps and Bentley's highest-ever torque of 1,350 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
The driving experience is designed to maintain a linear and refined feel that is always under the driver's control. The development team pursued a exquisite level of performance, recognizing that excessive acceleration would compromise luxurious comfort.
The battery capacity is 113 kWh, offering a range of up to 600 km. It comes with a warranty of 160,000 km or 10 years.
The suspension is Bentley's first fully active suspension system. Combined with two-valve adaptive dampers, it adjusts settings across four modes: 'Bentley Mode,' 'Comfort Mode,' 'Sport Mode,' and 'Refresh Mode.'
Furthermore, electronic all-wheel steering is standard, with a rear steering angle of up to 5 degrees reducing the minimum turning radius to 11.1 meters, enhancing agility.
These modes not only influence the driving dynamics but also alter the engine sound, newly created by human hands for each drive, and the interior lighting.
In 'Sport Mode,' in particular, the soundtrack becomes more immersive, visual information displays are more focused, and the cabin atmosphere, expressed through lighting and response, takes on a clearer intention. Naturally, it's also possible to enjoy the quiet ride unique to a BEV.
In addition, to enhance the user experience, emphasis has been placed on ergonomics and operability, including Bentley's unique curved OLED screen. Facial recognition allows for easy driver identification, enabling quick and seamless recall of user settings such as seat and steering wheel positions.

Q. How practical are the Torcal's interior space and charging performance for daily use?
The 5-meter long Torcal is the most compact four-door model in the lineup, offering 460L of luggage space in addition to 90L of front storage. Using the 400kW charging facilities already available in Europe and other regions, it's possible to add approximately 161 km of range in just 7 minutes. Furthermore, the rear three-seat bench features Bentley's first power-folding system.
Q. What are the unique features of the Torcal's sound design?
The Torcal development team identified the rhythm of the Bentley V8 as central to its appeal and created the 'Bentley Dynamic Symphony' using instruments like drums. The rich, powerful bass sound is precisely tuned to the driver's torque demand and vehicle speed. Other operational sounds also feature unique touches; crystal glass sounds are used for the touchscreen and digital assistant. The audio system is standard with 620W and 16 speakers, and an optional audio package with Dolby Atmos 7.1, co-developed with Naim, is also available.

Bentley's Colour, Materials, and Finishes team has partnered with Fox Brothers to use 100% Merino wool in the interior. 'Ombre Walnut by Mulliner,' newly developed for the Torcal, is crafted by meticulously selecting and bonding up to 1,000 layers of wood scraps and Kraft paper. Additionally, 'Sunburst Aluminium by Mulliner,' a reimagining of the engine-turned aluminum dashboard, makes its debut with precise, three-directional brushed patterns that offer a tactile quality.
