New Eighth Generation to Be Unveiled July 18

GM revealed that the eighth-generation Corvette, undergoing a full model change for the first time in about seven years, will have its world premiere on July 18. They also announced that the final model of the seventh generation, a 2019 Corvette Z06 Black Model, will be auctioned at the "Puttin' on the Pops Northeast Sale" in Connecticut on June 28, one of the world's largest classic car auctions.

All sales revenue will be donated to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This foundation was established to honor the achievements of New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, who died saving many lives during the September 11th attacks. It continues to provide mortgage-free homes with state-of-the-art facilities in desirable locations for those who suffered significant injuries in the line of duty, and to pay off mortgages for the families of those who lost their lives on the front lines.

GMC has supported the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation for the past five years, and the foundation has already raised over $10 million. Of this amount, $925,000 was raised from the sale of the first 2019 Corvette ZR1, which was bid on and won by Chevrolet dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick at the 2018 auction.

In addition, goodwill has been donated to the foundation through employee fundraising, the "5K to Tunnel to Towers" run and walk events held across the country, and sponsorship events by GMC dealers.

The final model of the seventh generation will be utilized for the benefit of many through a charity auction. We also look forward to seeing what kind of model the new eighth generation will be.
