Lightweight Soft Top Opens and Closes in 17 Seconds
Following the "Huracán EVO" announced earlier this year, the "Huracán EVO Spyder" is the second V10 Huracán EVO model. It is an open-top version equipped with a lightweight electro-hydraulic soft top, while retaining the next-generation vehicle dynamics control and aerodynamics developed for the coupe.
The top, operated by a button on the center console, can be opened or closed in 17 seconds while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h. When open, two body-colored fins rise from the folding roof case, extending towards the seatbacks to form a line connecting to the rear, emphasizing the car's low stance and dynamic appearance. Ducts integrated into the fins are designed to suppress wind buffeting during driving. Furthermore, the rear window can be raised or lowered electrically, regardless of the roof's position. When raised, it functions as a wind deflector, and when lowered, it allows the driver to enjoy the sound of the naturally aspirated V10 engine.
Another characteristic of the EVO Spyder is its ability to generate more than five times the downforce and aerodynamic performance of a standard Huracán Spyder, whether the roof is open or closed. This not only ensures dynamic handling and performance but also provides an excellent ride comfort. Airflow into the cabin is minimized, guaranteeing a calm cockpit environment.
The 5.2-liter naturally aspirated 90-degree V10 engine, also found in the coupe, produces a maximum output of 640 ps (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 9.3 seconds (compared to 2.9 and 9.0 seconds for the coupe, respectively). The top speed is officially stated as 325 km/h. The dry weight is 1,542 kg, an increase of 120 kg over the coupe. The power-to-weight ratio is 2.41 kg/ps.
The new Lamborghini rear-wheel steering and the torque-vectoring system acting on all four wheels, which are features of the Huracán EVO, are also incorporated, enabling the sophisticated and exciting driving experience that drivers desire.
Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali commented, "The Spyder represents an innovative leap forward for the Huracán EVO, offering not only the enjoyment of a responsive supercar but also remarkable ease of driving. With the roof down, the emotional sound of the naturally aspirated engine and the refined, lightweight exhaust system open up new dimensions in the driving experience. The design, performance, and exhilarating open-air driving are, quite literally, breathtaking."
The price in Japan is ¥32,827,602 (excluding tax).
