McLaren 600LT Makes Its Asian Premiere in Tokyo

On July 30, McLaren held the Asian premiere of the "600LT," the fourth model in its Longtail (LT) series, in Tokyo. The car had its world premiere two weeks prior at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, making this its first public unveiling outside of Britain.

The latest McLaren model, the "600LT," recently unveiled last month, made its Asian debut in Tokyo.

The 600LT's 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, enhanced with an improved cooling system and a rear upward-exit exhaust system—shorter and with less back pressure than that of the McLaren "Senna"—produces 600PS and 620Nm of torque, a 30PS and 20Nm increase over the base "570S" model. Furthermore, over 23 percent of the parts have been changed from the 570S, achieving a dry weight of 1,247kg.

The exterior silhouette is extended by 74mm with an enlarged front splitter, extended rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing, earning it the "Longtail" moniker.

Alex Long, McLaren Commercial Operations Director, who took the stage at the press conference, stated, "The 600LT is a racing animal unleashed on public roads." To maintain its unparalleled performance, he announced that production would be strictly limited to 12 months and that the number of units produced would be finite. Yoshihiro Masaki, Japan Branch Representative, commented, "Japan is the third-largest important market in the world for the Sports Series. Order intake in 2017 increased by 78 percent year-on-year."

The price of the 600LT in Japan is ¥29,999,000.
