McLaren Enhances Sports Series for 2018, Including the 570GT

McLaren announced on January 11th that it has enhanced its 2018 Sports Series models, including the 570GT. Enhancements include the standard fitment of carbon ceramic brakes and the introduction of the Sports Pack and Design Editions.

Expanded Equipment and Options Across the Sports Series

The most significantly changed model within the Sports Series is the "570GT"570GT." While the standard version offers a more relaxed driving experience suited to its GT nature with softer suspension springs and a 2 percent reduction in steering ratio, there were also requests for the sharp, precise dynamics of the S Coupe while maintaining the GT body style.

To address this, the 2018 model comes standard with carbon ceramic brake discs and offers an optional Sports Pack. The steering rack, damper actuators, and uprights will be the same as those found on the "570S Coupe" and "570S Spider" models. Buyers can also opt for "S-tune" settings for the adaptive damping, steering, and electric stability control. Furthermore, for an additional ¥852,000, the Pirelli P-ZERO tires included in the Sports Pack can now be specified for the 570GT.

Additionally, the 570GT introduces five new Design Edition packs, which offer significant cost savings compared to individually specifying body colors and interior elements. For owners seeking further personalization, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) provides a range of optional equipment, including an electrochromic panoramic roof with driver-controlled variable tinting (certification pending).

Across the entire Sports Series, revised option packs and pricing make additional features more accessible. The 12mm taller rear spoiler, introduced last year with the Track Pack, is now standard on all Sports Series coupe models.

Jolyon Nash, McLaren's Executive Director of Global Sales & Marketing, commented, "The changes for the 2018 model year make every model in the Sports Series even more compelling. The new 570GT Sports Pack allows customers to choose the driving dynamics of the 570S Coupe for their 570GT. With the optional Handling Package, they can now specify the same chassis setup as the 570S Coupe while retaining the luxury, storage, and aesthetics of the 570GT."

Prices start at ¥24.1 million for the 540C, ¥26.725 million for the 570S Coupe, ¥28.1 million for the 570GT, and ¥28.988 million for the 570S Spider.
