Lightweight Construction and Aerodynamics Contribute to Nürburgring's Fastest Lap Time

Prior to its world debut, in Germany'sNürburgring, setting a lap time of 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds, the fastest for a production carthe "Huracán Performante" was finally unveiled.

The powertrain features a 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine delivering a maximum output of 470 kW (640 hp) and 600 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed LDF transmission. With a top speed of 325 km/h and all-wheel drive, it achieved 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds.

This record was achieved through the latest lightweight technologies and aerodynamics. The body utilizes aluminum and "Forged Composite," a material where carbon is embedded in a resin matrix, achieving both a lightweight structure and complex geometric shapes previously impossible with conventional carbon fiber composites, while maintaining rigidity.

Furthermore, in terms of aerodynamics, "Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA)," which means "wing" in Italian, actively adjusts aerodynamic load during high downforce or high-drag driving, delivering performance suited to both public roads and circuits.

Reflecting the Performante's development goal of a "performance-oriented race car," the suspension system has also been improved. "Compared to the Huracán Coupé, vertical rigidity has been increased by 10 percent, and roll rigidity by 15 percent."

The design evolves with a sharper front compared to the Huracán. By positioning the rear exhaust pipes higher, Lamborghini claims a more direct connection to the engine, enhancing its sporty impression.

Weight reduction has also been implemented in the interior, with Forged Composite used for the paddles, door handles, and center console. The dashboard display shows detailed ALA data, including downforce. Additionally, the new digital cockpit display allows for adjustments corresponding to the three driving modes: "Strada," "Sport," and "Corsa."

The interior design uses dark Alcantara fabric, but Lamborghini's Ad Personam program offers customization options to suit individual preferences.

Pricing and other details are yet to be determined. Deliveries are scheduled to begin this summer or later.
