Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale
The Phantom Alfa Romeo
TZ3 Stradale Appears at CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama Complex!
Manufactured in a limited run of nine units worldwide, with only three still in existence, the phantom Alfa Romeo "TZ3 Stradale" has made an appearance at CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama Complex. This was a miraculous event bringing together the car, its designer Norihiko Harada, Zagato's chief designer, and Ennio Capasa, founder of CoSTUME NATIONAL and designer of the car's interior, celebrating three Italian brands: Alfa Romeo, Zagato, and CoSTUME NATIONAL.

A Road Car Successor to the Legendary TZ, Limited to Nine Units
The "Alfa Romeo TZ3" is a collaborative model between Alfa Romeo and the Italian coachbuilder Zagato, created to commemorate Alfa Romeo's 100th anniversary. In 2010, a single pure racing car, the "TZ3 Corsa," was produced. Its road-legal counterpart, the "TZ3 Stradale," with a planned production of just nine units, emerged in 2011.
The model name "TZ3" inherits the legacy of the first-generation "Giulia TZ," a racing car that debuted in 1963 based on Alfa Romeo's 105 series, and its successor, the second-generation "Giulia TZ2," which featured a lighter (620kg) FRP body in 1965. The "TZ" designation originally stood for "Tubolare Zagato," referring to cars with a steel-tube frame and aluminum body crafted by Zagato.
MaseratiThe "TZ3 Corsa," based on a chassis for Maserati and equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 engine, and the "TZ3 Stradale" share a similar appearance, both inheriting the traditional "Coda Tronca" style with a sharply cut-off rear, reminiscent of the previous "Giulia TZ" models. However, they are distinct vehicles in their specifications. As mentioned, the "TZ3 Stradale" is road-legal and based on the "Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR." It houses an 8.4-liter V10 engine producing a maximum output of 608ps in the front.
The vehicle showcased at CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama Complex is one of these rare "TZ3 Stradale" units.
In fact, Ennio Capasa, the founder of CoSTUME NATIONAL, personally directed the interior design of this car.
During the event, Ennio Capasa and Norihiko Harada, Zagato's chief designer and the designer of the "TZ3 Stradale," held a talk show discussing the allure of Alfa Romeo under the theme of art and design.
The car will be on display at "CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama Complex" until September 17th.
