In Lamborghini's history, only three V12 models have borne the "Superveloce" name: the Miura, Diablo, and Murciélago. It is a name that carries such special significance. The newly introduced Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce is said to be the most performance-oriented model in Lamborghini's history. Its defining features are the enhanced V12 engine producing 750ps and a body that is 50kg lighter than the standard model.

The limited edition model's powertrain, like that of the base model, the"Aventador LP700-4,"employs a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, but through significant enhancements, its maximum output has been increased by 50ps to 750ps. Maximum torque is rated at 690Nm. The rev limit has also been raised to 8,500rpm.

This results in an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 2.03 kg/ps for the coupe. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. The spider, equipped with similar machine specifications, boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.1 kg/ps. Due to the difference in weight, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is 2.9 seconds, a difference of 0.1 seconds. The top speed also surpasses 350 km/h.

Special Event Held to Commemorate the Launch

The secret to the 50kg weight reduction that enables such astonishing specifications lies in the extensive use of carbon fiber parts throughout the vehicle, based on lightweight engineering principles. In addition to the carbon monocoque with its lightweight aluminum frame, inherited from the base model, new parts such as the door panels, fenders, and the newly designed fixed rear wing have been converted to carbon fiber. Furthermore, the interior has been made lighter and more functional by adopting a new material called "carbon skin" for the inner roof and cockpit parts for the first time.

The aggressive exterior not only enhances the visual appeal but also significantly improves aerodynamic performance, increasing downforce by 170 percent compared to the base model. The suspension differs from the base model as well, combining pushrod suspension with magnetorheological dampers. This ensures constant vehicle stability under any road conditions, providing a more direct driving experience.

It was announced that the limited production of the Superveloce would be 600 coupes and 500 spiders, and all have already been sold. While many orders were received from Japan, the total number has not been disclosed.

In addition to the unveiling ceremony, a special event was held to commemorate the launch, featuring a parade run by Lamborghini owners. Starting from the museum, 66 Lamborghinis, ranging from classic models like the Miura and Countach to the latest Huracán, formed a procession along Omotesando and Shibuya, enjoying a brief drive. In the evening, a party for owners was held at the launch venue, where many Lamborghini users celebrated the birth of the Superveloce and fostered camaraderie.
