Improved Fuel Economy for the TSI Trendline Premium Edition
The Golf, which established the current European car trend of enhancing environmental performance and driving refinement through a combination of a downsized direct-injection engine and a turbocharger, now sees its two main grades enhanced and re-released as the "TSI Trendline Premium Edition" and "TSI Comfortline Premium Edition."
The "TSI Trendline Premium Edition," equipped with a 1.2-liter engine, features minor powertrain modifications. The range for maximum torque has been widened to 1,500-4,100 rpm, and fuel economy has improved from 17.0 km/ℓ to 17.4 km/ℓ under the 10-15 mode.
Equipment Level Equivalent to the TSI Highline
The exterior features aluminum wheels and front fog lamps. The interior boasts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with redesigned seat upholstery and panel finishes.
The "TSI Comfortline Premium Edition" is powered by a 1.4-liter engine. It now comes standard with bi-xenon headlights (including dynamic cornering lights and headlight washers) and dark tail lamps. The vehicle rides on newly designed aluminum wheels. The interior features seats upholstered in Alcantara and fabric, elevating its status to one level above the "TSI Highline" grade.
The price for the "TSI Trendline Premium Edition" is 2.63 million yen, a 60,000 yen increase over the previous model, while the "TSI Comfortline Premium Edition" is priced at 2.89 million yen, an increase of 110,000 yen. Both grades are eligible for the eco-car tax reduction (75% reduction).
Additionally, the higher-grade "TSI Highline" will now include bi-xenon headlights (with dynamic cornering lights and headlight washers) as standard, previously an optional feature, and will be sold for 3.29 million yen, an increase of 140,000 yen.
