Sporty Wheels Also Catch the Eye

The "Fiat 500 (Cinquecento)" captivates with its perfectly realized design, which can be perceived as both "cute" and "cool," and the sheer joy of driving despite its small engine. It has long impressed car enthusiasts with collaborations with various brands and, more recently, the innovative "TwinAir" featuring a two-cylinder engine with a turbocharger.

Now, a new Japan-exclusive limited version has been born from the "500." Based on the entry-level "500 1.2 POP" in Japan, the "500 Pop Bee" features a bold new color scheme of "Tropicaria Yellow" and "Crossover Black." The "500C Pop Bee," based on the "500C 1.2 POP," is a convertible with a "Tropicaria Yellow" body and a black canvas top. Both boast a playful, bee-like color scheme that evokes the sound of buzzing wings, true to the spirit of the "500."

Both models are equipped with the "START&STOP system," an idling stop function that automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stationary, such as at traffic lights, and restarts it when the driver intends to move off, without needing to operate the ignition switch.

The "500 Pop Bee" features sporty 15-inch alloy wheels with 195/55 tires, while the "500C Pop Bee" is fitted with similar sport-design 16-inch alloy wheels and 195/45 tires, completing its pop and sporty aesthetic.

It's not just about the design. The 1.2-liter inline 4-cylinder SOHC engine, with a maximum output of 51kW (69ps) at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 102Nm (10.4kgm) at 3,000 rpm, may not be large, but its lively and spirited performance is a major draw, alongside the "500's" design.

The price for the "500 Pop Bee" is 2.1 million yen, and for the "500C Pop Bee," it is 2.49 million yen. A limited edition of 50 units of each will be sold.
