A 500 Appears to Celebrate Gucci's 90th Anniversary

A Bold Finish, Uniquely Italian

The 500 by Gucci is the result of a collaboration between Gucci's Creative Director, Frida Giannini, and Fiat's Centro Stile (design center), based on the Fiat 500, following a proposal from Lapo Elkann, grandson of the late Giovanni Agnelli, head of Fiat, and leader of Italia Independent.

According to Ms. Giannini, "The Fiat 500 was first launched in the 1950s, sparking a style revolution and soon becoming the object of envy for many. Since its founding in 1921 by Guccio Gucci as a maker of leather trunks, suitcases, and handbags, Gucci has always emphasized luxury travel goods. Therefore, when Lapo Elkann proposed this collaboration, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to create something that conveys a new message related to travel in celebration of Gucci's 90th anniversary."

Gucci's Signature Touches Throughout

The 500 by Gucci is offered in high-gloss pearlescent black and white. The black version, with its gleaming chrome details and contrasting black-and-white interior, presents a modern, sharp impression. The white version, featuring satin chrome details and an ivory and black interior, offers a softer, more refined design.

It is equipped with wheels featuring retro spokes that harmonize with the body color, fitted with relatively slim 195/45R16 tires. The center caps of the wheels bear the interlocking GG logo in the body color, while the tailgate and B-pillar display the script "Gucci" logo.

Furthermore, the 1.4-liter model features Gucci green brake calipers, with Gucci's signature colors meticulously applied to every detail. True to Gucci's style, a green-red-green stripe encircles the entire body, and this distinctive stripe is also incorporated into the seats, gear shift lever, key cover, carpets, and seatbelts.

A Fusion of Craftsmanship and Spirit

The public relations for this 500 by Gucci will be handled by Lapo Elkann himself and Italia Independent Ideas, with plans for a major campaign utilizing various methods beyond traditional mass media. Mr. Elkann stated, "I am deeply honored to connect Fiat and Gucci in a significant anniversary year for Italy. This 500 by Gucci embodies the spirit of both brands, showcasing Italian craftsmanship to the world, and as an Italian, I am proud to have participated in its development. The 500 is my personal favorite, and I am delighted to have created this special edition with Fiat's Centro Stile and Ms. Giannini."
