"SV": A Crest Passed Down Through Generations
As the press conference began, President Stephan Winkelmann, dressed in his usual slim-fit suit, made a stylish appearance.
"It has become a tradition for Lamborghini to hold its world premieres at the Geneva Motor Show. Just two years ago, we announced theAventador J", and today, we are pleased to introduce another new product: theAventador LP750-4 SV."
Lamborghini's model naming convention is highly logical, so simply hearing this name should give you a good idea of what it entails.
The first part, "Aventador," is, of course, Lamborghini's flagship model. "LP" stands for "Longitudinale Posteriore,"—meaning the engine is mounted longitudinally behind the cockpit in a mid-ship configuration. The following "750" indicates the engine's maximum output of 750 horsepower, and "-4" signifies four-wheel drive. Finally, "SV" means Superveloce, or "very fast."
In essence, the Aventador LP750-4 SV can be described as a high-performance model of Lamborghini's flagship Aventador, with its maximum output increased to 750 horsepower.
"We chose the name Superveloce out of respect for our fans who passionately support the Aventador," said President Winkelmann. "Since its debut four years ago, the Aventador has achieved remarkable sales records, generating the highest profits in Lamborghini's history. This Aventador LP750-4 SV is a model that distills Lamborghini's pure essence."
As Lamborghini enthusiasts well know, SV is a "crest" that has been passed down through generations of the company's flagship models, starting with the Miura, then the Diablo, and theMurciélago. The revival of this name signifies Lamborghini's strong commitment to this model.

Performance Befitting the Pinnacle of Lamborghini
The engine is a carry-over from theAventador LP700-4, a V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine. However, by revising its details and adopting a new lightweight exhaust system, the maximum output has been increased from 700 hp/8,250 rpm to 750 hp/8,400 rpm. Raising the maximum output rotational speed of an already high-revving, large-displacement engine by an additional 150 rpm to gain 50 hp is a highlight of this Aventador LP750-4 SV.
Furthermore, by extensively using carbon composite parts for the interior and exterior, a weight reduction of 50 kg has been achieved, bringing the curb weight down to 1,525 kg. As a result, the power-to-weight ratio, which indicates the ratio of vehicle weight to maximum output, has improved from 2.25 kg/hp for the Aventador LP700-4 to 2.03 kg/hp. This delivers performance befitting its position at the apex of the Lamborghini lineup: 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.6 seconds, 0-300 km/h in 24.0 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
On the exterior, revisions to the front spoiler and rear diffuser shapes, along with the installation of a large rear wing, have not only increased downforce by 170 percent but also impressively improved aerodynamic efficiency, calculated from the ratio of downforce to drag, by 150 percent.
Inside, while the red Y-shaped lines on the seats are eye-catching, the extensive use of Alcantara creates a rather simple design that feels strongly racing-oriented.
The price in Europe is 327,190 euros (approximately 43 million yen). Market introduction in Europe is scheduled for late spring 2015.
