Lamborghini Huracán EVO
The Ultimate SUV? A Test Drive of the Lamborghini Urus
To allow participants to experience the Lamborghini lifestyle, Lamborghini Japan hosted a test drive event, "Road to Hakone," for magazines and web media. The drive from Hakone Retreat, a luxury resort in Sengokuhara, Hakone, to The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo in Roppongi, offered a chance to test drive the Huracán EVO. We savored its performance once again.

The Thrill of the Drive Lingers On
Just as a song goes, "Love is the drug," a well-crafted sports car can leave you with a lasting sense of excitement long after you've driven it. Lamborghini's "Huracán EVO" is a perfect example.
Its captivating styling, a cockpit design that would make any car enthusiast swoon, and acceleration and handling so sharp they're unforgettable – the Lamborghini Huracán's allure is truly immense.
If you have some disposable income and are considering buying a gasoline-powered sports car (while you still can), you should definitely try driving a Huracán series model at least once. It's a car that will make any car enthusiast say just that.
Debuting in 2014 as a sort of younger sibling to the flagship V12 model, the Aventador, the Huracán arrived with a slightly compact body measuring 4.5 meters in length, housing a 5.2-liter V10 engine mid-ship. This fundamental layout has remained unchanged even as we approach 2022.
The lineup is decidedly for the connoisseur. Initially all-wheel drive, the range has since expanded with the addition of rear-wheel drive and circuit-focused models, enhancing the overall appeal of the series.
It's too soon to dismiss a model introduced in 2014. I myself drove the "STO," an even higher-performance variant, on a circuit in 2021 and found myself desperately wanting one. This time, I drove the "EVO" from Hakone to Tokyo. The thrill of that experience has not faded one bit.
The EVO is equipped with a 5,204cc V8 engine producing a maximum output of 470kW (640ps) and a maximum torque of 600Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch (2-pedal) transmission. It was introduced in 2019 as a replacement for the LP640-4 Performante, along with a new naming system for the Huracán.
