Maximum Output: 640 PS, Plus 28 PS

The Maybach Zeppelin is based on the standard-wheelbase "57S" and the long-wheelbase "62S." Its power unit is a tuned version of the base 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine, achieving a maximum output of 640 PS (an increase of 28 PS) and a maximum torque of 102 kgm.

Exterior features include a two-tone body color with a contrasting lighter shade on the shoulder line. While "Rocky Mountain Light Brown" is available as a dedicated color, a wide range of body colors are offered, similar to the current Maybach. Other visual distinctions from the base vehicles include new 20-inch alloy wheels with a chrome shadow finish, dedicated tailpipes, dark red rear combination lamps, Zeppelin ornaments on the front hood, and newly designed door mirrors with integrated turn signals to reduce wind noise.

The interior is fundamentally bespoke, but the Zeppelin offers exclusive California beige premium leather seats with black piping. The seat cushions and backrests feature a diamond quilting pattern, creating an interior atmosphere befitting the more exclusive name of Zeppelin.

Limited Production of 100 Units

For the 62 grade, a partition screen separating the front and rear cabin space is available as an option, ensuring complete privacy by isolating the driver's area from the passenger compartment. Another notable interior feature, available as an option, is the world's first perfume atomizer that can spray fragrance inside the cabin. This function uses a spherical "sphere" made of Plexiglas, located in the rear of the front center console, to diffuse the perfume into the cabin for 10-12 seconds with the press of a button.

Two types of perfumes, created by perfumers from the top manufacturer Givaudan of Switzerland, are available, along with custom scents for individual owners. Three "spheres" hand-blown by a renowned glass artist are also offered. Operation is possible from both the driver's seat and the rear seats; however, for the 62 grade equipped with the partition screen, operation is limited to the rear seats only.

In Germany, the price is 406,000 euros (approximately 46.85 million yen) for the 57 grade and 473,200 euros (approximately 54.60 million yen) for the 62 grade. Orders began on March 3rd, but production is strictly limited to 100 units. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in September.

BRAND HISTORY
MAYBACH (マイバッハ) was a German ultra-luxury automobile manufacturer that produced approximately 1,800 luxury saloons, most notably the "Zeppelin," over about 20 years from the 1920s until the Second World War. The name was revived in 2002, with Daimler, a company with deep ties to Maybach, spearheading the brand's resurgence.

In the late 19th century, during the era when Gottlieb Daimler was intensely focused on developing the gasoline automobile, Wilhelm Maybach supported him as an engineer. Though often overshadowed by Gottlieb and Karl Benz, it is no exaggeration to say that the history of Daimler-Benz and the automobile would not have begun without Wilhelm. Indeed, some refer to Wilhelm as the "king of design."

Wilhelm left Daimler in 1908 to establish his own engine development company. His company was responsible for the engines of the famous German Zeppelin airships. After the First World War, Wilhelm's son, Karl Maybach, founded an automobile manufacturer – the Maybach in question. Post-war, the company supplied diesel engines for ships and railways. Upon Karl's retirement, Daimler-Benz acquired the majority of its shares, bringing it under their umbrella.

In homage to this illustrious history, Maybach is positioned as a luxury brand surpassing Mercedes. Currently, the lineup includes the "57" and "62," along with their high-performance variants, the "57S" and "62S."
