A Stunning 999kg Super Gallardo

At a press event, Lamborghini unveiled the Sesto Elemento Concept, a car that achieves a truly astonishing weight reduction, far surpassing the lightweight concept of the "Superleggera".

An Astonishing Power-to-Weight Ratio of 1.75kg/ps

This concept model's most defining characteristic is its incredible lightness, weighing in at just 999kg, a figure significantly lower than the 1340kg of the Gallardo's lightweight variant, the "LP570-4 Superleggera".

This level of weight reduction has been made possible for the first time through the introduction of next-generation carbon fiber currently under development by Lamborghini. This material is extensively used in various components, including the monocoque cell, front frame, body panels, suspension, wheels, and driveshafts. As a result, the car weighs under one ton, even with the engine installed.

This body is equipped with the same 5.2-liter V10 engine (570ps maximum output) as the "Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera," paired with a four-wheel-drive system. The power-to-weight ratio is an astonishing 1.75kg/ps. Naturally, its performance is world-class, with a 0-100km/h acceleration of 2.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 300km/h.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann commented, "The philosophy of this concept car will be reflected in all future new models." The day may not be far off when we can witness the next leap in sports car performance.

BRAND HISTORY
As Italy's leading sports car manufacturer, Lamborghini is constantly compared to Ferrari. This is entirely natural, as Lamborghini's origins lie in the ambition to surpass Ferrari.

Ferruccio Lamborghini founded Automobili Lamborghini in 1963, at the age of 47. After amassing wealth through tractors and air conditioning in the post-World War II era, Ferruccio owned numerous sports cars, none of which satisfied him. Ferrari was no exception. The famous anecdote tells of how, after Ferruccio complained to Enzo Ferrari about his cars, he was told, "You should stick to driving tractors." This spurred him to launch his own brand with the goal of defeating Ferrari.

Lamborghini wasted no time, introducing the "350GTV" with its advanced V12 engine and beautiful body at the 1963 Turin Motor Show, followed by the production model "350GT" the next year. Subsequent models like the iconic "Miura" and "Countach" were released. However, due to setbacks in the tractor business and the impact of the oil crisis, the sports car company bearing his name eventually changed hands.

Although Lamborghini changed ownership several times thereafter, it has seen steady growth since coming under the umbrella of Audi in 1998. The current lineup includes the V12-powered "Murciélago" and the V10 "Gallardo."
