Fascia Release Made Easy with the "Doctor Air Stretch Roll"!

To be honest, I'm practically an enthusiast when it comes to "loosening up a stiff body," finding great joy in relieving tension throughout my body with various tools. The tools and how to use themwere detailed in my August 2013 series, but recently I've added another favorite tool to my collection: the "Doctor Air Stretch Roll."

Why I Became an "Enthusiast"

But first... my journey to realizing the "importance of loosening the body" dates back even further, tomy June 2009 series, where I explained that it's because I learned firsthand that "when the body is free, the mind is also free." And I wanted to "loosen my body more and make my mind lighter!"

Also, I've been unusually stiff since childhood, so I get happy and excited even with the slightest improvement in flexibility. I want to savor that joy more, and if I slack off even a little, I immediately revert to my old state... That's how I became an "enthusiast" for loosening up.

Once I realized that using tools in addition to regular stretching could more efficiently relieve tension, my collection of favorite items began to grow.

Features of the Doctor Air Stretch Roll

Now, as for the features of this Doctor Air Stretch Roll, it has a vibration function. When you press a button, the unit vibrates, and this vibration is said to loosen adhesions in the fascia that covers muscles and bones, thereby increasing muscle flexibility.

There are four levels of vibration, with the strongest, Level 4, delivering 3,700 vibrations per minute – over 10,000 in three minutes! To give you an idea of its power, the floor actually shakes with the intensity of the vibration (!). It's a robust feeling that makes you understand why athletes use it.

By the way, releasing fascia adhesions is called "fascia release." I learned about its importance three years ago from my Pilates instructor and have been practicing fascia release through various poses. The fact that this tool allows for efficient release without struggle is precisely why I was so drawn to it, so you can probably imagine my excitement.

Simply Apply to Your Body and Feel the Vibration

It's easy to use. Just place the unit on the tense muscle area and press the switch. I apply it to the back, front, sides, and inner thighs – essentially all surfaces of my thighs. Many people tend to have tight muscles around their thighs, so those new to thigh fascia release might be surprised by the initial discomfort. Conversely, this indicates the necessity of loosening the muscles and the rewarding nature of the process.

I vibrate the back, front, and sides while sitting, and the inner thighs while standing and holding the roll between my thighs.

Then there's the back of the knee, which is difficult to reach with other tools. The size and curve of the Stretch Roll seem to fit the contour of the back of the knee perfectly, making it easier to release tension. I sit with my legs extended and vibrate the roll against the back of one knee. Surprisingly, many people are unaware of how stiff the back of their knees can be, but loosening this area can help with leg swelling and is crucial for achieving straight legs. It's a point not to be overlooked.

I also use it on my calves, entire back, and glutes, so I'm essentially using it on almost my entire body.

Oh, and besides its usability, another great feature is that it's lightweight and compact. Plus, a single charge lasts quite a long time. These seemingly minor details are important for maintaining a consistent practice.

The vibrating Doctor Air Stretch Roll is an easy and effective tool, perfect for use before or after exercise, for those looking to improve flexibility, or for anyone concerned about their posture. Give it a try!
