SERGE LUTENS
"White" is Eggshell Maki-e, "Gold" is High Maki-e. Necessities for Beauty Adorned by the Grim Reaper
Launched in 2009, Lutens' creation, the special "Boîtier d'Exception" case, long-awaited by collectors worldwide, will be released in a limited edition on November 21 (Friday). The motif for the first year of the Boîtier d'Exception was the iconic "Perfect Circle," followed by "Tiger and Moon" in 2010, "Borneo - Shadow Puppets" in 2011, "White Pierrot, Red Pierrot" in 2012, and "White Snake" in 2013. This year, the sixth year, the motif is "The Grim Reaper (Skull)." It comes in two types: "White" with an eggshell maki-e finish and "Gold" with a high maki-e finish. The lacquered "White" with eggshell maki-e is a reproduction of an ancient technique reintroduced to France by Jean Dunand and Eileen Gray in the 1930s. Additionally, two types of Serge Lutens' limited fragrance, the Gravé Edition "L'ORPHELINE" (¥54,000), and the limited-quantity black atomizer "LE VAPORISATEUR TOUT NOIR" (2 x 30mL / ¥19,440), which are released every winter season, will also be available on the same day.
Limited Edition Maki-e Compact | Price: ¥162,000 each (includes foundation of your choice and a black sponge)
