Herbal Water Launched to Commemorate 400th Anniversary, Also Available Same Day
The history of Santa Maria Novella began in 1221 when Dominican friars at the Santa Maria Novella convent in Florence, Italy, began compounding medicines, ointments, and pain relievers using herbs and flowers they cultivated themselves. In 1612, it was officially recognized as a pharmacy, and its offerings expanded to include soaps, creams, and interior goods. The products, born from the friars' philosophy of practicing charity and healing, one of their teachings, have remained unchanged throughout nearly 800 years of activity and are still steadfastly preserved and passed down today.
The newly renovated Ginza store will feature an even wider selection of Santa Maria Novella's herbal fragrance products. It will offer a full lineup of scented items, including Eau de Cologne, body care, bath products, and interior fragrances.
The commemorative herbal water "Maggio Water," created to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the company's founding, will also be released on the same day. This item, which expresses the beauty of Tuscany in May (Maggio) with its blooming flowers and plants through a body water, offers a gorgeous and gentle floral bouquet scent with notes of iris, broom, and rose.
