From Basic to Avant-Garde: 100 Colors Inspired by Tokyo

"Color Atelier," launched by shu uemura in 2011, is a popular palette system that integrates refillable eye and cheek colors.




The highlight is the 21 "TOKYO Inspired Colors" selected this season, drawing inspiration from Tokyo's nature, cityscape, architecture, and culture. From the flowers blooming in Nakameguro, the neon lights of Shinjuku, the greenery of Yoyogi Park and Meiji Jingu, to the urban, achromatic streetscapes of Aoyama and the avant-garde culture of Harajuku, these eye colors, created and re-edited to be "now" for Japanese women, are offered in a total of 100 shades. The palette system, allowing users to select colors as they wish, whether individually or in combination, remains the same, resulting in the birth of eye colors that stylish women won't be able to resist.

Ahead of the launch, a digital and real-world campaign themed "COLORHOLIC = Obsessed with Color!" ran until Sunday, June 19th. The experiential event "TOKYO COLORHOLIC PARTY" featured Comi (Wednesday Campanella) and garnered significant attention.



The main event of this campaign, "TOKYO COLORHOLIC PARTY," held at BANK GALLERY on Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th, offered attendees the chance to find colors that suited them from the 100 available eye shadows, along with makeup shows by shu uemura Atelier artists and eye makeup services, attracting many visitors. Furthermore, on the final day, Sunday the 19th, Comi (Wednesday Campanella), an artist who collaborated with shu uemura, presented a special content featuring the collaborative song and video, followed by a talk show.

During the collaborative song performance, Comi appeared with a different aura, her makeup themed around light and created by Yuji Asano, shu uemura International Chief Makeup Artist, in sync with the performance. Comi, emerging from the darkness wearing LED shoes, delivered a performance that utilized the entire venue in a space where darkness and light intersected. She sang while looking down at the audience from a higher floor accessed by a ladder, then descended and performed outside the stage area, energizing the venue with her unrestrained, dynamic performance.

In the talk show, she discussed behind-the-scenes stories of the collaborative song and video production, as well as tips for choosing colors in her daily makeup routine, alongside Yuji Asano. The event concluded with great success and enthusiastic reception.
