A "Luxury Halloween Party" for the Modern Woman
Discover a New You, Hidden Within
From autumn through the end of 2015, Shiseido's "clé de peau BEAUTÉ" is launching new products with the theme "Voyage a Venise" (A Journey to Venice). Culminating in the holiday season, a limited collection inspired by the gorgeous, glittering, and mysterious atmosphere of "Collection Bal Masque" (Masquerade Ball) has arrived. A special event, "Venetian Masquerade Night—Encounter a New You, Hidden Beneath the Mask—by clé de peau BEAUTÉ," was held in Tokyo and Osaka to offer an exclusive preview of these creations. We infiltrated the party, designed to fully immerse guests in the world of the mysterious and alluring holiday collection, a strictly women-only affair.

Embrace the Extraordinary with a Mask
The Tokyo event was held at Roa La Biche in Aoyama. Passing through the grand entrance, guests were immediately handed special masks, marking the beginning of the "Masquerade Ball." The masks enhanced the sense of stepping into another world. Within the fully private restaurant, captivating experiences awaited on each floor from B1F to 2F. In this alluring and glittering ballroom, guests spent the Halloween night immersed in their own unique ways.
In the main dining area, after being captivated by the powerful operatic solo "Ora o mai piu" performed by vocalist and stage actor Daisuke Yanase, professional dancers in masks presented an alluring dance performance. Drawn in by the enchanting and glamorous choreography, the masquerade ball reached its climax. With invited guests joining the dance, the venue became one, amplifying the party's excitement.
In another room, a "Tarot Reading" corner offered a chance to discover aspects of yourself you never knew. What hidden facets of your personality would be revealed? Whether it was love, fortune, or career, guests chose their own destiny.
Guests, their makeup expertly applied by professional artists using the "clé de peau BEAUTÉ" holiday collection, radiated a glamour befitting the evening. As an experience to "encounter a new you, hidden beneath the mask," their unique charms were fully brought out, distinct from their usual looks. There was also a display of color makeup and a try-on corner, encouraging guests to transform themselves. At the photo spot, they captured their newly transformed selves, fully enjoying the holiday collection.
The theme for the 2015 Autumn/Winter collection chosen by Lucia Pica, Clé de Peau Beauté's Makeup Creative Director, was "Voyage a Venise" (A Journey to Venice). Venice, the city of water, with its unchanged cityscape since the Middle Ages, is a mysterious place where canals and narrow streets intertwine like a maze, and light glitters on the water's surface. This city's light and shadow, its sparkle and transience, are expressed through color makeup.
Launched on August 21st, the eyeshadow "Ombre Crème Quadri n" features three variations expressing the "light and shadow" of the canals. Venice's canals are characterized by their deep greens. The shades capture the glittering green when morning sun hits the canal, the transformation to deep blue when the sun strikes at a right angle, and the golden sparkle as the sun sets, each rendered in a four-color gradation. Additionally, ten shades of Rouge Éclat C create alluring, plump lips with moisture and shine, while five types of cheek colors, offering both semi-matte and shiny finishes, complete the look, crafting a mysterious and powerful feminine expression.
The core serum "Le Sérum" (quasi-drug), which leads to moisturized skin, will be released on November 21st in a limited-edition bottle inspired by a mask adorned with the sublime jewel, the "ruby."
The design for the limited collection's packaging, expressing the mysterious "Masquerade Ball" world of Venice, was created by Joji Kojima, an emerging jewelry designer based in Japan and the US. By adopting Kojima's four mask designs and the feminine archetypes they represent as motifs for each item, a collection rich in narrative was born. "Elegance," the fundamental principle of "clé de peau BEAUTÉ's" craftsmanship, is enhanced by "Allure" (charm, sensuality), adding a new dimension of appeal that elevates the festive mood for the holiday season.
