“Reading shu uemura” “rebirth ~The Magic of Beauty~” All 4 Episodes Now Available
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the first makeup atelier by Shu Uemura, founder of "shu uemura." To commemorate this milestone, the first installment of the "shu uemura Atelier 50th Anniversary Project"—an original digital comic titled "rebirth ~The Magic of Beauty~"—launched on June 19th, Shu Uemura's birthday, with all four episodes made available on the 50th-anniversary commemorative website.

Reborn Through the Magic of Makeup!
The original digital comic "rebirth ~The Magic of Beauty~" tells the story of Manatsu Sena, an office worker lacking self-confidence, who is reunited with her high school crush only to be unceremoniously rejected. Her dependable older sister, Miharu, and her stylish, doting younger sister, Chiaki, try to cheer up the often-dejected Manatsu. The title "rebirth" comes from Manatsu's transformation through the magical power of makeup.

The comic is newly drawn by Narumi Kakinouchi, an artist with a large following for her fluid lines and emotional watercolor style. Her original art exhibitions are held annually in Tokyo and Osaka, and she is active in both manga and animation. The shu uemura Atelier 50th Anniversary commemorative website features "rebirth ~The Magic of Beauty~" along with various news updates, including information on 50th-anniversary events.
