Currently, Kanpei's Earth Marathon, temporarily halted due to his battle with illness, was supported by a special makeup color version of New Balance's "MR967." These shoes steadfastly supported his arduous 20,000-kilometer challenge. Check out "New Balance Tokyo," where the "Rainbow Running Collection" featuring Kanpei's colorway and more is also popular!

Choose Total Fit Shoes with Wide Sizing

Sawaka Nagata from New Balance Japan's Advertising and Public Relations Department is a beautiful jogger with a 10km time of 1 hour and 12 minutes. She started running four years ago and is finally challenging a full marathon this December, either in Honolulu or Naha.

"I started running for fitness at the gym, and began participating in races three years ago. Last summer, it became more serious, and my life has become so centered around running that I can call it a running lifestyle." She also finds it beneficial as a form of communication, running with her husband on weekends and with runners from various industries on weekdays.

When asked if she ever had shoe-related concerns as a "runner," Nagata replied, "For about the first year, I ran in shoes I liked, but I injured my knee during a 10km race. When I went to the hospital, I was diagnosed with a herniated disc, which was a shock to discover for the first time. I had been compensating for my lower back, which affected my knee. Since then, I've had our company's 'Wide Sizing' done every six months. When I consulted with the staff, they recommended the '96 series,' and after switching to the long-distance type, my feet stopped hurting."

New Balance is highly regarded for its shoes that accommodate "width (foot circumference)" sizing. Even with the same shoe length, feet vary in thickness and some Japanese feet are high-arched and wide, making size alone an insufficient measure. New Balance's unique fitting system, "Wide Sizing," offers up to four width options for the same foot length. Available in D (slightly narrow), EE (standard), 4E (wide), and G (extra wide), allowing for a more total fit.

Especially at "New Balance Tokyo," they focus on communication through wide sizing, so those who haven't found the right fit are encouraged to consult them. The store also hosts a running club, meeting before opening hours to run to Yoyogi Park.

Proposing Total Coordination for Women Who Want to Enjoy Running Casually

"Since I started exercising, I've become more sensitive to the changing seasons, like the wind and the scent of the air. As my inner self becomes more fulfilled, I've started paying more attention to maintaining my physical condition, and my skin's condition has also changed. And above all, the biggest benefit is being able to approach everything with a positive attitude," says Nagata.

Nagata's recommended shoe is the "WR92," ideal for beginners. The hole in the tongue is a thoughtful design for nail enthusiasts, making them easy to put on. With an asymmetrical design, the "N" on the heel, and mesh construction that allows women with bunions to wear them comfortably, this lightweight model is also affordably priced. The black/pink version is part of the Pink Ribbon campaign, with a portion of sales donated to the NPO Run For The Cure Foundation to support breast cancer awareness activities.

In apparel, the second collection of the Rainbow Running line is popular. To make running more enjoyable, leggings and other items come in multi-colors, allowing for vibrant coordination from the feet up. Accessories also feature dots and checks, making them easy to pair with town wear.
