An Interview with Dr. Claude Chauchard, Pioneer of Anti-Aging (Part 2)

Drawing from 25 years of cellular research, Dr. Chauchard found that beyond medical and cosmetic approaches, diet was the missing element for true beauty.
Teaming up with Chef Kōzō Matsuo of 'Shé Matsuo,' he aims to further enhance inner beauty support with a menu designed for anti-aging efficacy.

—Are there plans for future 'Dr. Claude Chauchard' product releases?

We have plans for other items to be launched.
While not currently planned for release, I'm very interested in makeup products right now, particularly men's makeup, which is something I'd like to explore.

—Men's cosmetics?

Women wear trousers, yet men are looked at strangely if they wear skirts. But there's no reason why they shouldn't.
The current market for men's cosmetics is small, but compared to the past, there are more cosmetic options for men. I believe that in another 10 years, it will be an era where men also wear makeup.
I want to create not only items that invigorate the skin itself, like beauty masks and eye serums, but also products that enhance appearance, such as foundations, highlighters, and pressed powders.

—If men start wearing makeup, women won't be able to rest easy either (laughs). Following your bestseller, 'Reverse Aging in 30 Days!', are you publishing another book?

Yes, even with the world's finest cosmetics, beautiful skin cannot be achieved without a balanced diet.
Therefore, I plan to publish a book with Chef Kōzō Matsuo of 'Shé Matsuo' based on the concept, 'Proper Cooking Yields the Best Results from Food.'
I explain the mechanisms of aging, and in response, Chef Matsuo provides a month's worth of recipes effective for anti-aging. I am confident that this content is so excellent that one can feel the effects after practicing the recipes for just four days.
Additionally, in the first half of this year, I plan to conduct cooking classes in Japan with Chef Matsuo.

—I see. So you're further promoting aging care in Japan through both internal and external approaches.

In Japan, I want to propose my activities through a total concept encompassing medicine, cosmetics, and food.
Currently, I have opened 'Saho Clinic' in Roppongi, Japan, and plan to open clinics in Osaka starting in January, as well as in Tokyo Station and Sapporo.

—Finally, what is your secret to maintaining youth and beauty?

Whether Japanese or French, when discussing aging, the topic often turns to wrinkles. However, beauty is not synonymous with youth. Many people who have aged gracefully continue to shine with vitality. I believe beauty is born from the accumulation of life experiences, including diet, exercise, and one's philosophy.
However, living a life strictly regulated solely for anti-aging is not enjoyable. The most important thing is to have a grand goal and avoid accumulating frustration. And since humans are weak creatures, it's crucial to know your own weaknesses and build self-confidence. Yet, use your imagination to avoid falling into egoism. Isn't the person who can face unpleasant things without running away, and accept them properly, the truly beautiful person?

—Thank you.
